The Piano Forte X's typically goes for ard 220,000 yen or abt 2.8k in SGD after the exchange rates conversion, so Jaben asking for 3K is prolly just abt right, afterall they do run their businesses under a roof/ceiling and there are lease rentals to worry abt, so if they are not making any profits frm customers at all....why bother opening a store in the first place?

I'm not trying to defend for Jaben here, but sometimes before verbally slamming retailer shops/merchants please try and be reasonable, do a facts check before slamming them cause running a business ain't easy thing too.


To speak up frankly for Jaben, if you check their re-opening sales after the shifting renovation back during late June if you have been to their stores during tat period, you would realise that sometimes they do have pretty gd bundle sales too provided the model is what you are after. I have personally noted and observed tat during that renovation sales, they were having some pretty gd bundle deals for some of the FAD heaven series to be honest, just as the FI-BA-SA (heaven C) that I currently own as well.

I got the PF8 preowned, so cannot choose between 8, 9, 10. But I fell in love with it the first time I auditioned it. It's my main home use phones now. I got PF2 too and I love them for what they are.
I am curious how different 9 and 10 will be but too scare to try.... Also don't wish to end up with multiple PFs and don't know which to sell... hahaha.

Which led me to seek out another Japanese phones. Enter Kaede; from what I read about Sui, I have a feeling I won't like it, if shsh91 drop the price even more maybe I don't mind snapping it up to try. LOL!!

I was actually starting to wonder whether you got poisoned by me srsly and went ahead and bought a BNIB PF VIII's after coming across my brief review of the PF IX's, since I did wrote quite a brief summary abt the IX's back on the ATH appreciation thread previously last time, and it was not simply a new toy syndrome impressions frm me as I alrdy had my IX's since last yr Dec, so I had already spent some quality gd time with them doing some serious listening sessions with these.

You shouldn't have to be too bothered by not having a chance to choose btw the IX's and X's, as long as you like yr VIII currently it should suffice for your case as long as u are deriving enjoyment out frm them. Frm my brief demo-ing of the VIII/IX on a single setting during the same occasion @Jaben last time b4 I bought my IX's last yr, and again testing the PF X's on another separate occasion, I can be frank with ya and share with u with the exception of some slight differences in their bass decay/treble resonance effect and how the soundstage presentation sounds, these are mostly still considered the same family line-up products and still shares quite the same mid-centric SQ character/traits among them.

VIII from my memory sounds more vivid-sounding abt slightly V-shaped, but in terms of midrange body/timbre is not as full-sounding/fleshed out as the IX/X, so I would say latter 2 has more refinement in its mids quality. X has probably the widest soundstage properties based on my memory, but all 3 don't have that kind of blended in-yr-head kind of ss properties you get normall from closed iems, it's really quite out of the head actually but just that the X sounds better like very stretched out left-center-right presentation with more width felt for both left/right sides (increased hollowness/air in between?) compared to the VIII/IX if you can understand my description. While VIII and IX in terms of their soundstage/imaging sounds more 3D-like holographic/rounded if you ask me.


All 3 series don't have any sort offensive treble details or any technical/analytical sounding traits in terms of clarity as one would expect from a typical TOTL multi-BA universal or customs monitor. The Piano Forte series is pretty much a warm, mid-centric pair of universals, that has very staggering resonance/reverb properties that can mimic a very hall-like theater effect when listening to live acoustics/classical performances. That's probably the best description I can sum up for all 3 Piano Forte series, though according to FAD's website and a Phileweb artile I saw previously, PF IX's are supposed to have the truest to source/tuned to have the most accurate tonal acccuracy out of the 3, which is quite abt right as I remembered ianmedium from Head-fi has mentioned abt this before, since he has some friends working in the sound engineering field and he shared once that his sound engineer peers do quite like and respect the IX's signature alot for its realistic/naturalness in terms of the source portrayal (in terms of the music reproduction).

Unfortunately the 333's have been loaned out for a few days according to what I have been told and since the store doesnt have anything else on the horizon that interests me (well except for that Yamamoto HA-02 but it's still bloody ex for my wallet), I didn't stick around and left shortly.

Too warm, too veiled, too muffled, too heavy, cables too thick.

Bro Joe, read that u had reviewed the 2 Whiplash cables, Twag v3 and TWcu v3 HYBRID 8 conductor and 8 conductor Twcu v3.

Which cable do u think is a better match on my C435 ?

Moi not looking into the Twag v3 because afraid that it's might add more high to it which make the sound bright.

I would like to boost the bass and warmness ( more emotion ).

I wonder if auditioning in Jaben, will I be able to tell the 3 PFs apart from one another, given that PFs have no isolation at all......

Maybe I should put up my PF8 and see anyone wanna trade for Fitear and I go buy PF9.... !!!

Despite my years as an audiophile, I've never heard a high end Final Audio IEM.
