Tested 335 and 435 today. 334 was reserved so no testing. Impressions probably not 100% since it's a custom demo so gotta adjust here and there and keep supported to maintain a reasonable seal. I'm both sad and happy. Sad because i may be one of the rare number of pple who didn't legs jelly.

435 has loads and loads of detail. Super resolution and open sounding. Everything is fantastic, except that i couldn't feel the weight. Once that is missing, even how good are the rest of the sound also bueh gum for me liao. Pay $2.7k for it? Nah. Not happening.

Next. 335. More laidback. Abit more bass but unfortunately it's still not enough. It's a very relaxing easy sound and may come off as wooly to some. Bueh pass for me.

Then tested jh13 and jh16. The jh13 demo seems like something not right. L/R channel balance sounded funny. That aside, bass quantity is ok. There's more weight. But the treble sounded abit compressed. Not the kind of sig i would want to pay $1.8k for.

Already quite sian liao. Then finally comes the jh16. That was my silver lining. Suddenly everything just clicks. The bass, weight, thick mids, just right treble, the overall sig is just gum with my genres. I spent the most time on it. At the end of it, it's still a $2k iem.

Then i tried the jh16 on ak120 and compare to my sony a865. Ok... Abit more laidback, abit more grip on the bass, that's about it. Overall sig is quite similar. Detail level not certain for this session but i think is not far. All in all, it's a $300 vs $1.5k difference.

Lastly, i tried ck100pro again to refresh my memory. Ok. Done.

Happy. Happy that i left empty handed!

duno old or freqphase. asked the guy he also duno. yup the price tag wrote 1988 or 1998, forgot liao. just take it as 2k ba. the price bao ear impression, 1-mth free redo impression and free shipping iirc, and std warranty for the phones itself.

should be can direct order but i duno how it will add up. gotta compare and see.

For Fitear, Wilson said best to let him do the impression coz he's been "trained" by Fitear to take the impression for their custom.
Furthermore, if anything goes wrong with your impression, let them sort-out everything.

335 sound sig is like my TG! 334, but the 435 is on different playing field already.
All 4 of us kena poisoned by 435....
I didn't really like their demo JH13 and 16 as I find them "dark".

Jaben have made a lot of impressions since they have been selling customs forever.

I've heard of bad experiences with japen ear impression making before. The person complained of ear pain afterwards, not sure if he's ok now.

Imho this kind of thing cannot play play, best to get proper professionals to do it. After all what use are customs if your hearing is damaged? Also cannot enjoy mah..

hard to say also... the ear pain thing i also dunno which type of experience is that you are referring to.

but as far as i know when i had a conversation wif the representatives of Digisound, some people have sensitive ear canals; they cannot put the sponge insert beyond the 2nd bend (or 1st bend for some extreme cases), let alone the medical grade of silicon they pump into your ears to make ur molds.

the sensitivity is due to the small hairs that grows around the walls of our ear canal. so some minor movement of those hairs will cause either pain or itch or "loud sounds".


another issue is the technique of pulling the mold out of the ears. the inside pressure and outside pressure of the ears causes pain as well if do it wrongly. however i do not know the impact/damage on or in the ear that would have caused such experiences.

the person complained of slight hearing lost after impression was taken. Thats why I was scared of getting my impression taken at null audio. But in the end I still went ahead, and tbh was one of the scariest moments of my life as the sponge went in.

I think the Supervisor did for me the impression very good no doubt it's a bit pain as she goes deeper but still tolerable.

This is my first time doing the impression by them. All of my time I did at DigiSound and what I feel is at Jaben, they know and daring to go much deeper than the one at DigiSound which always afraid that u will feel pain.

My guessing is the impression fitting by the Jaben is perfect and I can feel the difference and the material used by them is claimed to be better.

When u are in Mrt with no song play, u should not be able to hear the commuter voice?
