Forett 12 min unsheltered walk to mrt is simply too far. 15 min walk if walk at normal pace.

And there's hardly any amenities within 10 min walk. Not forgetting if you stay deep in the development, you have to walk for another 5 min.

from my agent he said not yet, but the developer message to agents yesterday was that 10 aug was the last day to enjoy the '1% earlybird discount'

--> inferred that the px increase would be 1%

your guess is good as mine.

I think by Sept there will be an increase of x% of retrenchment and jobless. :o

when I read his answer I laughed. some answers don't really make sense. wonder if he own a condo himself.
ultimately I think location more important than tenure. a 99 years beside mrt is better than a freehold deep in some ulu location

then how about freehold condo next to MRT leh?2 min walk to PTPS MRT
priced at $2k psf then Q until where?

I prefer condo, but if that small apartment don't have full condo facilities, no reason to pay more than the landed. Landed also can have your own small pool and gym.

some people, especially those got used to HDB,really don't mind lack of facilities.
such people would not mind paying higer maintainence fee as long as it's a FREEHOLD condo they feel they can live in forever:)

wow, really learnt a lot from different opinions on this property.

I tried to walk from the construction site to MRT side exit, if walking very casually and chatting to people at the same time, it's about 12min. I would say normal walking speed would be around 9min, depending on how fast you walk 850m. This excludes the distance from your condo to the gate. So it's not close to MRT definitely. And the bukit timah or upper bukit timah name does not matter to me. it's next to downtown line and nature reserve, which is better than nothing.

On the other hand, the layout of all units are very very good and reasonable. All floor plans are livable, but it's the tiny detail that differentiates it. But it only matters for own stay. After seeing the floor plans and showroom, I just love it. I believe it's the same for the rest who bought Forett.

For someone like me with budget limit, there are other properties within 2min walking distance to MRT (and away from main road), the total price is too expensive even though price/sqft is lower. If you cut off the corridor and probably a bit smaller bathrooms, you save quite a bit area.

Ever since COVID, personally I give up the idea of living in a neighborhood with thousand more people. Even though COVID can end well with vaccination, but the change of perception and habit will stay. I think Forett is just the right size, not too big and not too small. They also offer higher floor options. You get all facilities needed, and just enough. I don't feel like paying the premium for giant swimming pools and fancy designs in the common area. They are nice to have as extra benefits but is a bit waste if I have to choose. if you look at it everyday, it's the same. but it will be noisy with many people in the pool, etc. lol

Many are working from home nowadays and there will always be this option in the future, in my opinion. So nice living environment with greenery or next to sea is better for home office. You are gonna spend majority of your time at home, not elsewhere. Of course we may very likely go back to the old lifestyle post COVID.

Price wise, everything is based on consumer perception, trend and demand. That's why marketing is very important. I have friends starting to look outside central area for cheaper rents and nicer condos after their lease ends. I know little about property market so I am very anxious to see what will happen in 10 years time. just sharing some thought:s11: (for me better locations for convenience are like orchard, marina bay, probably newton... but not six avenue, which is just stops away from beauty world and it's so expensive

I’m honestly surprised to see a few people posting about how they love Forett’s floor plans. Out of curiosity I went to check out the floor plans. Naturally the 4 bedrooms cover all it needs to and is lovely. But the 3 bedrooms at 980sf opens to a foyer which is an unnecessary waste of space when the living/dining is rather compact? The 570sf 2 bedrooms is the standard dumbbell layout which most new launches have so I have no comments about that.

But I find the 721sf 2+study worst of the lot. Traditionally the master bedroom is the most private part of the house and I believe rightfully so. This layout has the kitchen right next to the master bedroom which I find really odd. Imagine the noise and grease floating into the master bedroom. The washer/dryer is just separated from the bedroom by a non structural wall.

On another hand Forett has another 721sqft 2+S which I like. Corner stack with toilet , kitchen & study window! One of the bro bought this layout, congrats to him!

It’s definitely a rarity to find 2 bedders with an enclosed kitchen that has a window in new launches nowadays :)

Haha it is a standard feature in older condos launched just a decade ago. Why have consumers came to accept otherwise? In terms of practicality, do people with kids think it is a danger for toddlers to have an open kitchen next to the tv area?
