Congrats!!!!

I actually bought one yesterday... First time buying property for own stay and was happy that finally can have my own home until i saw this thread. But i really love the floor plan and it looks like a pretty place to stay. We will see in 10 years time if I will regret. But now, i should be happy i guess.... After seeing almost all the properties that are currently on sale... This is still my mostly preferred. Projects near highways or MRT are just so noisy, especially when MRT is above ground. Maybe for many its convenient. Walking to beauty world MRT is actually not that far. Plan to ride a bike like 2min? Since there is bike parking lot in forett. may seem ridiculous but a good exercise.

Can someone enlighten me why it is expected that upper bukit timah be priced at a premium compared to toh tuck which is just a few minutes drive away? I feel this is an obsolete mindset really.

I suppose that one of the big draws of upper BT is the schools located there. But staying close to pri schs there doesn't really help with enrolment, and staying close to sec schs/preU schs doesn't even matter.

In the past when traffic was atrocious there and DTL was not up, maybe one could justify staying close to those schools if already studying there, cos the jam is no joke. But with DTL up, staying anywhere near a DTL station few stops away (toh tuck, even bukit panjang) offers almost the same convenience.

Arguably, toh tuck area have more amenities as well.. so what remains for upper BT over toh tuck is the private enclave. Perhaps this may explain the relatively stagnant D21 trends as pointed out by others.

Congrats! Don't think too much. One of the reasons I walked away is also because I didn't feel like I would want to stay in the units available to me long term. So it came down to whether I thought the properties have chance at good capital appreciation, and nobody can tell the future for sure. I might be the one to regret in 10 years for not buying when it's this "cheap" lol.

Congrats!
Yes it’s a good location to stay
And it’s definitely near enough to the MRT to Bike/Bus/walk
Some bros here just need it to be “next to MRT” and enjoy the chaos so gd for them

I think it's more of Forett wanting to associate itself with Bukit Timah rather. I guess the marketing team is proven right once again, that branding does matter, 1900-2000psf for Toh Tuck.

Congrats I think u made a good choice despite some of the chatters. No development is perfect, moreover there’s a saying that u can buy a wrong FH project but not a LH project cos FH don’t have lease decay, ultimately when all projects prices move up in tandem w the economy naturally ur project would appreciate.

Hillview is a no-no unless u don’t want to be disturbed 24/7 🤣 then yes a unit there would help.

Don't overthink, if u buy for own stay, is okay as long as u enjoy the purchase.

All comments here is purely speculation :)

Premium property is about address, not about proximity or amenities

Forett tries to be premium, but it really isn't in my opinion :)

Kopar is arguably a better option if one is on the lookout for a premium property and between the 2 it is almost the same price

Quite a number of Low floor units at kopar have psf ard 20xx to 21xxpsf and they are not big size units.
