:s13: leverage 20:1, might as well dont trade...50:1 is decent but you need to dump in larger equity if you want to go for bigger size lots

looks like alot will use offshore brokers liao :s22: ...500:1 leverage kind haha

I think so. Above this level is abit siao one.... Like gambling liao

You actually get margin call more easily if the leverage is lower. Damn stupid MAS

Assuming capital and position size remain the same, why margin call easier if leverage goes down?

MAS is trying to protect the retail investors.

If leverage is high and investors lose money, then the blame will be on MAS for not regulating enough.

For the same position, the trader needs to put in more cash than before.

actually, put in more cash means the margin level % goes back to actual state like 50:1 right? so lesser chance of margin call?

if status quo on amount of equity and position size but with 20:1, means margin call will be faster since margin level % will be reduced drastically

For example you trade X amount using leverage 20:1

If you trade X amount with leverage 50:1,you need to put in less cash. The trick is to have calculated risk.

WARNING!

Take note big moves will come soon in the next 14 trading days for all markets. No asset will be spared.

Technical analysis is looking on hindsight to predict the future. Act blur hao lian trader is very good with blowing such trumpets. Most importantly many people forget to make trade decisions with geopolitical perspective. This is what I use as my indicators besides Central Banks propaganda. A chart tells you about past performance but past performance does not guarantee same future results.

FOMC rate cut of 25-50 basis points on 31/07/2019 is a done deal. What does this mean besides USD negative, equities positive? It means something big may happen.

Uncle Trump finally got what he wished for. The rate cut will give him extra fire power to fight the trade war. This means the PBOC will have to devalue the CNY currency by (tariff % amount) + (extra 25-50 basis points) to even out the tariffs imposed. Currency outflows will accelerate in correlation to depreciation pace. The last thing what China wants to see is currency outflows being speeded up.

Don't say Mr.Canberra never give good tips. :s13:
