No trader uses Vega.

MM use Vega in their calculations and they are the only ones that do. You CANNOT trade Vega

The professionals trade vol lah - can tell you are wannabe or already past expiry liaoz. I am in this line dealing with hedge fund and real money account traders. You are the wannabe. Also all hedge funds calculate their current mark to market taking into account trades closed and those still open - how you measure your value at risk - most funds also got a floor that they have committed to not breaching to their investors. If you dun take into account open positions then you are living in a delusion. Confirm fake. Dun know what you are talking about and saying others dun know. The only thing that may be true is that you are superstitious.
