nowadays principal is dirt cheap :s13::s13:

0317 GMT - Some Asian companies have started marketing dollar bonds with the Fed out of the way. But they continue to pay high premiums to attract investor interest. Baidu is out with its 5- and 10-year bonds, offering 1.4 and 1.8 percentage points above comparable Treasurys. CreditSights expected premiums of 0.95 and 1.55 points. Meanwhile, Lenovo is marketing 5-year unrated bonds at a 2.3 points above Treasurys and has dropped plans to offer 10-year debt. Another Chinese tech firm, Tsinghua Tongfang, is selling 3-year unrated bonds at initial guidance of a low-6% coupon. That as high-yield issuers are still watching the market. 0307 GMT - With another symbolic, measured rate hike following the Fed's latest move, the PBoC is signaling that it will continue to rely more on adjusting the supply of cash in the financial system--rather than raising borrowing costs--to rein in high debt levels and cut financial leverage. The PBoC accompanied today's reverse-repo increase with a decision to withdraw a net CNY150 billion ($23.7 billion) from the financial system via its money-market operation, the most since right before the Lunar New Year holiday. An obvious reluctance to raise interest rates notably and a stronger inclination to tighten liquidity betrays Beijing's wariness of further increasing corporate cost burdens despite its resolve to cut the economy's leverage levels. Amid a tough balancing act, Beijing clearly prefers the more-flexible approach of controlling fund levels to influence investment and trading decisions. (hong.shen@wsj.com)

This pair the spread is usually wide. Same as all EM currencies.

I do not trade USD/CNH. I only hold CNY for Fixed Income. Rates going up in China. Swee. :s13:

I am bearish on GBP tonight ! 8.30 pm

GBP has rocketed up past few weeks because maybe people expecting the interest rate to rise today follow FED hike

But I think they wont raise interest rate today yet ... but this one must put stop loss cos once GBP sudden rocket up very hard to go back down again :s13:

What are your thoughts on trade war? Textbook economics tell me CNY will depreciate to maintain China export.

May I comment?

China is trying to woo European nations with its lowering of import tariffs. China is determined to push the One Belt One Road initiative. Also considering petroyuan coming along, an appreciating CNY should help alot.

All priced in. Big Boys taking profits and selling off. :s13:

Just ignore the rubbish comments from chua sai boy. Let him talk to himself.

Hahaha on a serious note on both of you opinions. Firstly you must understand CNY sets a daily central parity rate against a basket of trade weighted currencies. Appreciation or depreciation is relative to against which currency you are talking about.

PBOC is also very flip flop when it comes to currency strength as long as it serves their short or mid term goals. As of now PBOC is cutting back on liquidity to manage deleveraging efforts. Near term means currency strength and borrowing rate is upside. However it may change when a new situation arises in their economy. They are playing a game of tug of war. Pull and release as and when they like.

When I started talking about the pros of CNY a few years so many pundits doubt my bullish calls just like some jokers saying my No Stop Loss strategy is suicidal. :D From my experience holding CNY assets long term is not an issue. Majority of my assets is in CNY. Estimated 70%.

Trust me if you got extra money to speculate or park. Get some hard assets in China. Hold 100% cash or government bonds if you want liquidity.

Wow suddenly so much interest on Renminbi? :s13:
