Bought those non frozen vacuum packed 3 Pcs for 13.50 at NTUC.
The rice inside is rock hard and not cooked at all! Puii
It is the brand that sells yam cake, Chee Cheong Fun. With Chen Su Chen as brand ambassador..

Serious? My dad told me NTUC sells very nice yam cake. Not sure if it's same brand

the chee cheong fun is not bad. i purchased it many times.
bak zhang is cannot. at least for the 3 i bought, 100% of it was not fully cooked.

Try to see if u can buy freshly made ones at tiong bahru fc. U buy a few to keep in freezer. Can eat anytime.

Frozen & vacuum sealed squash the BZ rice, filings. Outcome :long time to reheat, not nice to eat.

Update. Today I dropped by Molly's at Lor Ah Soo. This shop sells all kinds of kuehs and has been around a long time. Their bak chang is $2.60. Still cheaper than most others. Previously i bought before was $2. Quality ok for me.

I saw giant at my plaza last year selling 6 for $29++ and no one buy.

why not just buy fresh ones

Most of ＂fresh＂ are frozen thaw too, good for few days of shelf life. Shengsiong put fine print to consume on day of purchase.

I think only buy at the rice dumpling specialty shops where there are staff wrapping rice dumplings on the spot then is real fresh. Premium pricing for fresh too.
