Yes and the CNS is still sleepy too.

That's why I don't heavy squats on mornings.

And I find that I do best on squats on late afternoons - after a post-heavy lunch nap.

As I mentioned earlier, the spine is still "asleep" 1-2 hours after waking. That's why one should do exercises which would involve the lower back very soon after rising.

does this apply to running/sprinting as well?

its a habit of mine to finish cardio in the morning before the sun comes out =/

:)

Unless you sleep standing up (and are therefore f*cking awesome), your spine is decompressed after waking. It takes an hour or two for your spine to compress back down to normal.

Personally, like Benz, I can't do anything that intense less than 2 hours after waking up and eating something. My body can jog, walk, even sprint, but I just can't lift heavy sh*t.

Ah thanks for the tip.

Squatting heavy in the morning always give me pain near the butt area =( Sucks soooo much.

If you really no choice have to train very soon after waking, you can hasten the decompression process by just hanging from a chinning bar for a few sets.

now i see why u'r having hard time gaining mass! ditch the cardio or reduce it to 1-2 per week :s22:

on a good week i'm only running 2x. other than that i stick to only once a week which lasts no more than 20mins

the only reason for cardio is to bring up 2.4km :( wouldn't bother too much with it otherwise

u'r aiming for gold or something? if not ditch all the cardio then...i believe even without running, by doing weights-only, getting silver 2.4 shd not be an issue for your current status.

struggling just to get silver. srsly. i'll be satisfied to run 12:00 on a consistent basis.

i have a chronic issue with stitches. happens every single time. doesn't matter that i'm hydrated, have my muscles stretched and generally warmed up, it always comes :(

went to the doc and he told me it varies from individual to individual, so nothing much for me to do about it :(

ah ic...well for stitches, maybe due to water intake abt 15 mins before u run?
if i drink anything 15 mins before my jog/run, i'll get stitches.

Nice curls. Do you bother doing low rep with curls regularly? Or is it a just-feel-like-doing-so-do-it kind of thing?

Thanks, still trying to get my 14"-14.5" biceps and curl like 20kg for 8-10 reps :S

It's more of a just-feel-like-doing-it-so-do-it kind of thing.

If i have time in the gym, eg friends not rushing off and leaving me alone in the gym, i'll do extra curls and pullups before leaving the gym.
