It is kinda weird use case ? If you are overseas then why you are still doing online transaction that require OTP? Cos most likely it is just paywave kind stuff not the online transaction kind
The physical debit card you need to order separately and it has a separate 16 digit number. So possibly revhappy only got the virtual debit card not the physical debit card so with virtual how to wave?

Below are from fsm cso share in case it help anyone
--
You can utilize the Debit Card for transactions wherever MasterCard is accepted, also please ensure your SGD Cash account maintains a sufficient balance. No separate activation process is needed.

For online purchases, an OTP (One-Time Password) is required to complete the transaction. However, for physical transactions, OTP is not necessary.

In the case of transactions in foreign currency, MasterCard will handle the conversion automatically, and no additional action is required on your part.

I did a small top up into the FSM account, it was instantaneous! I remember in the past it would take them like few hours after the deposit to be able to see your money in the account.

I also made a test transaction, the OTP is sent to email as well and it is from NIUM same like Instarem. That is really cool, because when you are overseas you may not have roaming enabled on your SIM, so email OTP is a saviour.
It means you long time no use fsm deposit and withdraw feature hahaha. Yes I can agree with what you said. Deposit and withdraw is now close to instantaneous.

Curious did you also order a physical debit card so can go overseas and wave to pay hence no need any OTP ?

Yes. I ordered the physical card also. But I might be using some local apps like Uber etc with local sim card, so I will need the OTP to add the card to the app.

If you go China don't think Google Pay is supported. But can add the fsm card to Alipay app for instance so yes maybe don't need physical debit card at all. But still since physical debit card is free why not apply so can take home and admire. But pray you get the maroon color becuz the black color really very ugly.

I received the maroon card, it has crimson written on it.

Many countries dont have contactless or the limit for contactless is too low, in hotels etc. So better to have the physical card.

Dug up forgotten account to post here.

Used this card in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto).
Top up through bank account was easy (Mine was already verified as i used FSMone for investment previously - Your mileage may vary).
All of it was through GPAY and works each time with no issue.

Two things i do not like is is that
1) Exchange rate isn't that much attractive compared to youtrip and revolut. During my trip, youtrip and revolut was on average 1SGD:110YEN while FSMone was average 108.5
2) You are not able to see what is the current exchange rate - It is not the same as using the SGD - YEN conversion built in to the app for the currency exchange

Personally if wasn't for the 5% cashback, i would not use it.
Maybe if you require a spare card and you use FSMone as your investment plaftform, then this would be decent pair i guess?

ATM withdrawal - None
Reply from CSO - "Regrettably that the debit card is unable to perform any withdrawal from the atm machine"

5% cashback promo - Oct 23 to Dec 23
Reply from CSO - "Meanwhile, there is no enrollment needed as so long you have spending in overseas within the promotion period the 5% cash back will be crediting into your cash account within 4 to 6 weeks after end of the promotion month."

Today use the debit card in Msia. 1 SGD 3.448 MYR. Better than the money changer 3.43 MYR. Add in 5% cash rebate can use this card until 31 Dec 2023.

Thanks for the review. For ATM withdrawal use trust card. No visa and I read it is close to spot exchange rate.

For my upcoming overseas trip, my main credit card spend will be FSMone card Upto 1k limit. Secondary and back up card SCB journey as they are rebating the 3.5% FX fee.

Trust card for ATM withdrawal.

Just share the 1k is for each calendar month. Means say Nov 2023 spend 1k in Dec 2023 can spend 1k again so total $100 rebate.

Buying expensive bag like coach (stupid name like bus coach) will take about $500 so quick hit half of 1k limit. That spender is definitely not me but I will claw back from her minus 5% rebate the best I can do.

$500 I can buy much much more toys to fill up my wardrobe!!!!!!!

6. 5% cashback amount is applicable only on the first S$1,000 spending overseas of MCCs under this Promotion for each calendar month

the fx rate will never beat youtrip or revolut but after factoring the 5%, will certainly will.

take note for debit card, the unposted amount could be different from the eventual posted amount. That was what happened with my DBS Union Pay Debit card. However with the 5% rebate for UnionPay, it more than makes up for the fx rate for sure.

Did you enter your FSM account ID in the reference section?

Anyways I noticed today whole day the app was in maintenance mode.

For fsm debit card it is immediate I verified last week on MYR txn in Msia. Flash pay already email received 5-10 mins later and FSM cash account deducted. Use physical card no need OTP.

Ya, that i would agree. Hence i was more willing to just tap / wave this card instead of the other 2 during my trip.

But it still kinda suck that the exchange rate is "hidden" and not the rate same as what you will get from converting SGD to YEN for investment on the account

Just have to factor in the rebate you are getting in 2 months time

i found that the exchange rate was somewhat better compared to Amaze to Card . Cannot really pin point how much different as i dont do side to side comparison (no time), but i think it is good contender with 5 % rebate .
This is in regard to JPY
