Why need? They don’t know whether you got shares in CDP In the first place

Theoretically, it is possible. But in case of payment/transaction issues, it is better to wait for settlement to be done at vickers.

When you do a sell transaction, the broker will send a message within 24hours to CDP to 'reserve' the amount. CDP will send you the SMS notification confirming this.

So if broker sends a message in 24 hours and CDP responds that there is insufficient quantity inside (because the buy order has not been delivered), I don't know what would happen...

Thats why some online brokers have a 'contra' button (i think poems is now smart enough to automatically detect that you are doing contra but no sure about other brokers). If contra button is ticked, the broker won't send the message to CDP asking them to reserve the amount

Contra button I tot only works for same broker? ie u buy sell from same broker. Otherwise it won't work

I don't think can do contra trade using fsmone in ur description that way
Not unless u have holdings prior of your trading counter.
Otherwise i expect you to bear buy-in fees

i was gna ask this.

am new to the platform too and holding some dbs and ocbc. there doesnt seems to be any notification for corporate actions?

mine old saxo account already have notification for the same holdings.

no broker has direct real-time link to CDP. So the statement that they don't know if you have the shares in CDP is true.
Why otherwise when you sell in FSM there will be a HUGE disclaimer warning you check the amount in your CDP matches your soon to be executed sell order.

When others say its "theoretically" possible is because if both actions have a T+2 lead time, it just means that its like executing a BUY/SELL orders on diff platforms within same day. But its really cutting it thin and i wouldn't advise to try.

Depends on the settlement for selling from CDP for FSM, if follow T+2 i think u should be able to do that
