well..
if you are talkin in terms of school purchases and outside purchases, the most obvious difference, is the given years of warranty. For school purchases, you will get 3 years Local On-Site (parts and labour) .. while if im not wrong sony only offers 1 year.

u do the maths. 0.0

yearp. from the website that u listed, check out the warranty..

1 thing about laptops.. since its portable, u would be bringing it along with you island-wide.. and hence.. i will say its prone .. to some hardware failures..(lols. depends on individual still tho.. anyways, im using my s7110 for 2 years, and hv changed 2 LCDs, 1 motherboard, 1 fan.. ok im rough. hahah)..

so the other impt thing to look out for when u r buying a laptop..is the warranty.. u never know when it is going to malfunction. :(

those salesperson they won't care abt whether there is dead pixels or bright dot on the laptop or not... they just want to sell the stuffs that's it... that's why as consumer we must insist to check before purchase.... if they dun allow u to check on the spot... just walk away... there are so many shops selling it...i'm sure they will stop u and let u check.....even that time i bought it at IT show, so many ppl i also insist to check on the spot.....:D:D:D

In general, there are pros and cons for every brand.

Fujitsu after sales service as in the service center service? (other than the long waiting for servicing / collection, others looks fine.)

For my Fujitsu laptop, it turns 3 this July. And it have been to the service center twice till now.

Problem wise, not for my model, certain model deem to have alot of problem perhaps due to manufacturing fault. But well, take 50% off using your luck. :p

My fujitsu notebook still up and running now, I bought it in 2001 and never give me blue screen.
It's very slow to boot up coz only P3 with 256MB RAM. But it's good enough for me to browse internet and write some docs.

many times we blame certain brands of notebooks for their manufacturing faults..

but.. among the many times, many were due to user faults.. u see.

it all depends on how u use it..

i thought you should have considered exactly all these when shop for a lappy. anyway, i second that luck is one of the factor here, like other bros have said. i din have much on mine :s22: and that would definitely be the last item i will choose if it were to be made by them. now, a happy hp and thinkpad user. good luck to you ;)

I am using S7010 which is 4 year old now. Failed once for the mainboard during 3 years warranty.

Looking in getting a S6510 with 3.5G. :)

Hi bros,

Need a little help down here. I just got the time today to downgrade my S6410 (bought from NUS) to XP from Vista Business. However, after installing the drivers, I cannot get the scroll button on my touchpad to work. I can left/right click but just not scroll using the button in the middle. Anyone knows what's the exact driver I need to download?

And, is there a way to download Update Navi from Fujitsu so I can update my drivers automatically? Can't seem to find it in the drivers download page.

And why is there a need to create a parition when I do the downgrading? Now I have both C: and D: drive on my harddisk. Isn't C: enough?

Thanks in advance.
