i believe it is ddr2-800. u can get higher speed ddr2 but it probably will not be much boost. lower speeds I think are ok but the clock speed will be reduced, and performance a slight bit lower (dun think its very noticable imo)

Service center will not guarantee your data integrity after it returns from the servicing. Hence, you will need to do your own backup even though your issue seems like a screen issue. You wouldn't want to take the risk with your data, right?

If the screen is not faulty due to misuse or abuse, it will be covered under the warranty.

1. it would be good if you do a snapshot/image your entire laptop, thus reducing the need to install all programs again when it's all transferable. if you're technically less incline, you might as well copy all the files to a external hdd.

S6520 is between 2.5 - 3k depending on configuration.

For your budget can consider the S6421.

Its best you go to a retail store directly to enquire the price.

Here is my reply:
1. Harddisk cloning or imaging is a good way to capture a snapshot of everything on your laptop. However, the cloning software does not come free. The more famous ones and also easier to use are Acronis TrueImage or Norton Ghost. Else, it will be back to the basic of backing up you data to an external harddisk.

2. Duration of the servicing will varies depending on the availability or the parts and also on the turn around time that is promised by the service center. You will need to check with the service center on this. In general, it should take around 3 to 7 working days. There might also be the express service which you will have to pay extra for. Do check with the service center on the types of services they offer.

3. It is better to call them to understand the process for sending in your laptop. Different service centers might have different policies. For example HP, you just need to bring your machine down and log a case there for them to fix your issue.

Are you using high performance power plan? I am using S6520. These are my readings:
GPU: 66-85C
Core1:62-75C
Core2: 62-75C
Hardisk: 39C

I know these readings are insane expect the hardisk's temperature.

anyone using S6520 can advise me if you are facing wireless problems too? i just had this lappie for a few days and it's already showing me e inconsistency and frequent drops of network. even restarting doesn't help. i practically have to uninstall then let it detect and reinstall on its own before it gets connected to e network again. some help please??

s2110 died

hi everyone, i'd really appreciate some help!

i bought my fujitsu s2110 from the it fair in 2006. it runs on AMD haha.

last week, it started making really weird noises like something was vibrating inside. this happened whenever i booted to windows and started running tasks.

today, i can't even get to the boot screen. when i switch on the laptop, it just remains black. it makes a few "beep" noises then remains stagnant.

anyone encountered this before? is it salvageable?

wanna know if i should try servicing it or just accept that it has died and get a new laptop. i backed up most of my info recently so i should be ok.

Try using a different profile and see if the same thing happens. If you only have 1 profile, create another and test it out.
