Ah, thank you for your reply. so, do you know where i can go to replace my parts & how much will it cost? my warranty is over, so i can't go to the service centre anymore... right? :s11::s11:

You can still go back to the service centre for such repairs but in most cases, it might be more costly. You can try asking around in shops at Sim Lim Square to get an idea of how much it will cost for such services and make a decision from there. However, you must beware of some shops that does not really fix your problem but make it worst. This is one of the disadvantage of going to shops at Sim Lim Square. Going to the service centre might be more costly but you can get a peace of mind by leaving your laptop in their good hands.

Another thing to bear in mind if you decided to get it changed at the shops in SLS. Make sure you ask them if they are giving you new parts or refurbished parts and also not forgetting about the warranty period for the replaced parts. You wouldn't want to pay for something just so you have to return the next day again.

hi i would like to ask if anyone of u encounter this problem.
when i start up my laptop there is this start up error repair
and it will load to recovery and utility.
it happen 3days ago and the problem is still where whenever i on my com.
would hope u guys can help me.

and if i reformat my laptop do i need vista cd?

thank you.

Your problem might be due to a corrupted operating system, which is the Windows Vista. This is just based on assumption as I can't see what is happening. If this is true, then you might have to repair the operating system.

Formatting of the laptop will erase all the data on your laptop and if your data has not been backed up, I would advise you against formatting. There are few ways to backup your data even though your laptop is unbootable but it will be hard but will require someone with the technical skills to help you in this. Mishandling will result in data loss.

Most laptops should come with a recovery partition that allows you to restore the operating system and within it, there are options to reinstall the operating system without erasing the data. This recovery partition option is available when the laptop boots up.

Does anyone know what is the contact number for Fujitsu onsite warranty?

i remember i got scolded when i called the wrong number for Fujistu. Now make me so scare dont know which is the correct number to call.

Apparently got 2 companies, only one offering onsite warranty one.

Not sure is it 63956666, call and nobody answer one leh.. sian

Never know that Fujitsu provides onsite support. In any case, calling the wrong number shouldn't get you a scolding.

Fujitsu only has 2 service centres for computer related support and you can call 67388118 for their Funan branch to enquire.

hi all, i am using lifebook S-6520. whenever i click on a certain link, the same window will keep popping out. so may i know what is the problem with that?? how can i solve it?

The description of your problem is not very clear but I assumed that this happens when you click on a website link. Is this happening to all websites that you visit or just a specific website that you visit? There might be a chance that your Internet Explorer has been hijacked from going to other websites except for the ones that someone wants you to go to.

You can try downloading Spybot's Search and Destroy and do a scan of your machine and see if that helps. Else you might have to seek professional help on this if it gets too irritating for you.

Hi all, I have a 1 yr old fujitsu S6520 that has a really dirty keyboard, was wondering if they keys are removable for washing? Just pull? Thanks!

I presumed that you are referring to those yellow stains on your keyboard. You can use cleaning solutions to remove those stains. Using water will just spoil the keyboard as it is all electronic below the keys. You might even end up killing the motherboard if too much water seeps in.

The keys are not removable and are very delicate. It will be very hard to reseat the keys back to the keyboard.

hey guys.. im using fujitsu lifebook S6410. vista business btw. i jus encountered some problems.. when i try to shutdown my com.. it took like 5mins before it could actually shutdown. is anything wrong? pls guide me gurus

thanks

edmund

Vista is a rather resource intensive operating system. However, it will still depend on what applications are installed on your laptop as well. During a shutdown process, the operating system will need to kill all running processes before shutting down. You can try removing some unused applications one at a time and see if it helps to speed things up.

Hi guys,

I am using Fujitsu E8410, and have recently start to monitor my laptop temperature. Is the readings of
GPU: 73C
Core0: 62C-70C
Core0:62-70C

common? or is my laptop too hot already? Any idea when can i get a decent laptop cooler?

Hi,

Regarding some queries regarding the Fujitsu warranty, 3 years warranty does it mean that for the 1st yr labor+parts are covered and after that only parts are cover? If I have any problems after the 1st year, I need not pay for the part but need to pay a $80 labor charge?

1 year labour + 3 years parts

So 2nd and 3rd year you pay for labour charge of #80

Are you using high performance power plan? I am using S6520. These are my readings:
GPU: 66-85C
Core1:62-75C
Core2: 62-75C
Hardisk: 39C

I know these readings are insane expect the hardisk's temperature.
