Update:

A staff whom had served me on the day of purchase had given me a call and apologised. He told me his boss had saw this thread and had asked him to call me.

I had also told him my intentions are to raise awareness of the service standards of Fuwell had dropped and the purchasing experience is far from great. He acknowledges the issue and agreed that the Sales staff could had handled it better.

At least the management of Fuwell took responsibilities and apologised. Let’s hope they could improve on the staff customer service standards after this incident.

Just want to vent out my displeasure with Fuwell experience.

I been doing up a new rig once every 2-3 years. For those who knows me, I would often do up SLI, Xfire, Tri Sli since 2012.

Last month when my rig is down, I decided to decommission my 1080ti sli rig and get a new rig.

So I head to Fuwell and purchase a mid tier rig, full system with 3070.

As I was lazy to fix up the pc myself, I gladly paid $20 for installation fees. Which was the start of nightmare.

When I got home, I found out the following from my casing accessories are missing.

- GPU vertical riser
- top fan mounting screws (u can’t use normal screws on NR200P top mount fans)
- fan grill (I don’t need it so I did not bother to tell them it’s missing)

I called Fuwell next day and head down. When I went into the shop and told the salesperson I am here to collect the missing GPU riser and top fan mount kit. The sales person shows displeasure and was pretty rude showing me attitude.

The tall salesperson just passed me 4 fan screws (normal one). I told him off, if I need the screws I won’t even bother come down. I want my gpu riser and quick mount screws which is supposed to comes with them. That guy went to the back and returned with the items I need.

I thought it’s over, till I found out they also did not give me the ARGB cable connection cables for my AMD prism wraith cooler.

Once again I called them and told them that they had taken my cables again without returning me. The salesperson told me to come down next day to collect.

When I reached the shop the next day, the same tall rude sales person was there and I told him I am there to collect the cables.

This time round he came back with the right cables and passed to me.

When I receive the cables, I asked him. Why is it that they would keep all the items that are essential to the items I had bought. Shouldn’t it be returned to the customer when I had purchased the item.

He simply replied, “uncle who fix your rig will keep whatever item is not installed in the system”. I told him, I had paid for the items, whatever is not installed should have returned to customer. I had to come down twice to hunt for the items which are supposed to return to me.

Sadly, no more Fuwell for me.

Wow thanks for sharing. Good to know all these shady business practices, full-of-BS uncles who still living in the last decade thinking they can hoodwink everyone. SLS already got a bad rep and these are the long time tenants don't give a hoot, continue to perpetuate the rot.

I not sure who is the one that fixed up my pc. All I know is I paid FUWELL to get the job done it’s not about the mounting kit, gpu riser or even the cables for cooler. But it’s the ethnic of the shop itself.

They can gladly keep the fan screws, cable tie or even my sata cables. But they kept the essential tools and items and can still tell me if it’s not installed the uncle will keep them.

So if I don’t want my GPU to install in the rig, they will keep it too?

did you get the name of the tall sales person?

Sadly nope, too pissed to even bother to ask. Actually I wasn’t that pissed, but with this sales person attitude that had shown me as if I owed them. It made me even more pissed that’s why when the second time I head down I straight shoot him why item was not given when it supposed to be return.

Same thing happened when I bought my first rig with them in 2012. But then being a noob I didn't bother to go get them back. Only when I assemble my 2nd rig myself in 2015 then I realised there's so many accessories that comes with casing and mobo.

I avoid them because of thier attitude.

Yup, will avoid fuwell. Even the old reputable shop had turned to this state. Pretty sad to see this actually happening.

So now I will only head to two other shops in SLS if I will need anything. No more fuwell for me.

My experience for Tradepac rig installation, they also keep the extra screws and cables. So far I did not encounter any issue with them.

Found out when I found my risers and mounting kit are missing and also when trying to change the fan placement .

Honestly screws and cables are fine. They are not essential. If the item is needed for the specific purposes or functions, they should be returned.

Generic screws and cables are cheap. Vertical GPU riser and custom screws are a different story.

The point is when they quote the price, they quote full retail price for the retail package. The customer is entitled to everything in the package they paid for. Whether the customer uses it is none of their business. What if I want to buy a ATX casing to use as my dinner table? It's none of their freaking business! If they want to keep some of the items, the LEAST they should do is to ask first, and not simply do it and take it as "oh it's like that, everyone does it like this". That's why these people are full of BS.

I have another experience with Video-Pro, another one of the long time tenants. Bought a SFX-L PSU on Lazada from Video-Pro, they send a totally different SFX PSU. The model different, specs different, price also different. I raised a return item request on Lazada, their person got the cheek to come msg me and ask why am I returning, what casing I use, can it fit. I'm like hello excuse me, I paid for A and you gave me B, what is your problem? What casing I use, whether can fit, is none of their business at all. Send wrong thing then either you replace it with the right one or refund me my money, simple. I told them simply, what casing I use has nothing to do with them, and they promptly shut up. But even then, they still attitude - never accept the return request until Lazada cust service mandated it because I have full evidence that they sent something that doesn't match what I ordered.

Thank goodness I'm still able to put together a system on my own and have the time for it, it's this kind of attitude that really sounds the death knell of the brick and mortar shops in SLS. Don't they realize they stand on the precipice?

Regardless, items that were bought and paid for by buyers should be returned to them as items have been paid for. Really shady of them to retain such items, OP's post is duely noted, will avaoid Fuwell should I want some PC parts.

Its just the SLS mentality, since it works for so many years. Might as well continue the practice. Screws and cables i really don't mind, but GPU raiser cable? Daylight robbery :s22:

funny thing is a good number of those with price list on HWZ are these crappy shops. Should maintain their names on blacklist rather than pricelist.
