Imagine if they re-package it and re-sell it

it's not exactly unimaginable yeah, lol. One of us goes in to buy a riser cable, they can just sell those same parts to you. No brand no model no nothing, no one knows it's kope from other buyers also. Easy $30 like that.

Thank goodness I'm still able to put together a system on my own and have the time for it, it's this kind of attitude that really sounds the death knell of the brick and mortar shops in SLS. Don't they realize they stand on the precipice?

Regardless, items that were bought and paid for by buyers should be returned to them as items have been paid for. Really shady of them to retain such items, OP's post is duely noted, will avaoid Fuwell should I want some PC parts.

I can do up my own pc. I done up several extreme rigs with custom wc loops. Just that this time, since doing up a small and carry so many boxes home. I totally regret. As in the end I had also removed every part of the new rig and reinstall every single parts I had purchased. Might as well i save the $20 and the grab trips I had paid.

Honestly screws and cables are fine. They are not essential. If the item is needed for the specific purposes or functions, they should be returned.

Precisely, I had lots of those generic screws. But they literally kept my GPU riser and the special mounting kit for my case. Pretty fug up.

I not sure who is the one that fixed up my pc. All I know is I paid FUWELL to get the job done it’s not about the mounting kit, gpu riser or even the cables for cooler. But it’s the ethnic of the shop itself.

They can gladly keep the fan screws, cable tie or even my sata cables. But they kept the essential tools and items and can still tell me if it’s not installed the uncle will keep them.

So if I don’t want my GPU to install in the rig, they will keep it too?
Actually even screws and sata cables should be returned to the customer as it’s the customer’s property. Taking it without permission is stealing.

wah thats why i always buy from pc themes to support them. Pay a bit more never mind. I'll rather reward people with good attitude than all these horror story staff

Just want to vent out my displeasure with Fuwell experience.

I been doing up a new rig once every 2-3 years. For those who knows me, I would often do up SLI, Xfire, Tri Sli since 2012.

Last month when my rig is down, I decided to decommission my 1080ti sli rig and get a new rig.

So I head to Fuwell and purchase a mid tier rig, full system with 3070.

As I was lazy to fix up the pc myself, I gladly paid $20 for installation fees. Which was the start of nightmare.

When I got home, I found out the following from my casing accessories are missing.

- GPU vertical riser
- top fan mounting screws (u can’t use normal screws on NR200P top mount fans)
- fan grill (I don’t need it so I did not bother to tell them it’s missing)

I called Fuwell next day and head down. When I went into the shop and told the salesperson I am here to collect the missing GPU riser and top fan mount kit. The sales person shows displeasure and was pretty rude showing me attitude.

The tall salesperson just passed me 4 fan screws (normal one). I told him off, if I need the screws I won’t even bother come down. I want my gpu riser and quick mount screws which is supposed to comes with them. That guy went to the back and returned with the items I need.

I thought it’s over, till I found out they also did not give me the ARGB cable connection cables for my AMD prism wraith cooler.

Once again I called them and told them that they had taken my cables again without returning me. The salesperson told me to come down next day to collect.

When I reached the shop the next day, the same tall rude sales person was there and I told him I am there to collect the cables.

This time round he came back with the right cables and passed to me.

When I receive the cables, I asked him. Why is it that they would keep all the items that are essential to the items I had bought. Shouldn’t it be returned to the customer when I had purchased the item.

He simply replied, “uncle who fix your rig will keep whatever item is not installed in the system”. I told him, I had paid for the items, whatever is not installed should have returned to customer. I had to come down twice to hunt for the items which are supposed to return to me.

Sadly, no more Fuwell for me.

I hope you also took those boxes belong to your purchased items. I would ask for it in case I am replacing those items with different model, so I can safe keep them in the original box.

Strange enough, I never had this problem with Fuwell so far.

I am not here to tarnish their reputation. Person whom served me is Alex but he wasn’t the A**hole whom shown me attitude.

I had a few shops that I always try to patronise including fuwell. But after this episode. No more for me.

Kept the Mobo, Ram, CPU and GPU packaging box only. Anyway I replaced some of them as in the end upgraded to 3090, PSU sf750 can’t handle it.

Unfortunately this has been said for years and years, and the SLS shops are still alive and kicking. Business is probably extremely good around this time (whether it's like the 'good old days' or not is another matter). There may be less people buying DIY PCs, but the profit margin on each Robert is bigger (Nvidia GPUs anyone)? The shops remaining are only the stronger ones with a good base of customers, the crap shops are probably dead already.

And not only that, there are still people who are supposedly DIY-enthusiasts and still paying money for them to fix their 'DIY' PCs! Of course they will continue to jiak your accessories, it's like free money for them and they probably think that it's rightful payment for their service! One or two complaints surface online, people will just forget it in a couple of days and life goes on as normal!

I have never gotten someone to build a rig for me. I learned how to build everything from scratch. No regrets. I built my first rig in 2019 and I’ve learned a lot through these experiences. From a pc greenhorn I can say I’m quite good at doing it now ^^

In my forties, this time I am in a rush and no time to fix myself that’s why entrust them. Too bad. They had broken my trust in them.

We are from the same era. :D

My kid's pc I will still find time to fit up for them. Coz I really cannot trust anyone from SLS to do for me. If anything screw up, I still need to drive down to settle, waste more time and petrol.

Now usually I busy with work, so I will stock the pc parts in my study room, then everyday fit the hardware bit by bit. Just skip all the custom water-cooled system, go full air system.

Fuwell used to have staff who is kind, helpful and very friendly 10 ~ 15 years ago. Years ago, their staffs like poop. Abit high and mighty feel. Sibei attitude. Hello customer = your boss's boss.

They charge $20 cheap already. My neighborhood pc builder charge extra $10-30 for each item and installation $60-80

Not saying fuwell is good but there are many worst out there

Agree some shops charge as high as $80.
I'm been supporting Fuwell since PC early days, I know some
familiar faces.

There are some new faces I never seen before but to me they are OK.
However I build PC myself and I know builders on Caurosell are the worst.
Some builders anyhow match parts or use parts that are imported
like Taobao, Aliexpress etc.

I went into fuwell once to enquire about parts availability, but that one time became my last. Super rude customer service.

Sidetrack a bit, when you doing home reno make sure to look out for similar practices, where they quietly 'absorb' unused accessories into their own inventory... esp if you're using better quality fittings.
