Yes. I also have a5 2017, it is able to connect to wireless@sgx. The demo samsung phones in shops are demo sets, hence it is not the actual product.

no no they are the actual product, but some demo units might be running retail firmware which has features locked down.

demo sets in shops are a520x, I believe its a single sim version since it doesn't have sim manager also. at least that's what I saw at Samsung vivo store. retail sets are a520f/ds.

Demo sets are usually preloaded with Retail Mode on the phone's software ROM, and they don't come with RF module too iirc.

Demo sets are non retail sets. They have retail mode loaded. There is no Radio chip inside.

just gotten the new A7 in black. user experience-wise everything feels similar to S7 edge except for a few things:

1. No haptic feedback for capicitive buttons.
2. No LED for notifications.
3. Only can save up to 3 fingerprint profiles.
4. Camera esp in low light is bad, not sure if software related as the hardware tech specs dont seem inferior.

Agreed that camera in low light is absolutely rubbish, switching to night mode only gives it minor improvement.

But then again, value for money phone though. Lack of led can be mitigated by the AOD.

Yes, it may be software related. Seem like the hardware is the same ISOCELL camera model as the one in the Oneplus 3T which got a decent image review on dpreview site. Hopefully can be fixed with software update.

ya this phone the capacitive keys no vibration.

another bug is sometimes when got notifications, the notification pane will appear at the top of the screen and some apps support reply, sometimes the reply button cannot tap one.

yup using andriod b4 hand, didnt wanna use the g drive. anyway i solved it, i created my own whatsapp folder in the samsung a5 and imported everything in (minus the photos, wanted a clean start)

realised that there is no tactile feedback for the A series? or is it just me?
