Just perform a nandroid after u have root and unlock the bootloader and have install cwm..Back up a copy of it on ur comp if u wan but do not change the filename of that folder..

After backing up is done, u need to wipe user data first using CWM, flash to AOKP Build 24 or Milestone 3 and then flash GApps from each of the download page respectively..

After u're done, reboot and re-setup ur phone..

What rom?

If it's stock rom, wait for them to be pushed out OTA..

AOKP Nightly Build 25

It keep reboot to stock

I assume you're coming from stock rom?

If yes,

- Have you perform a data wipe in CWM?
- Did you flash GApps after the rom flashing is complete before rebooting?

Edit: Damn, just flash to b24 and b25 is out already..Luckily changelog nth much..

1st time reboot would be quite awhile(Nt very long thou), after which u will see the Android is updating applications screen and when it's over, it will boot into the device.

The trick is to hold down the entire volume button, not just the volume down half :)

Still went to download mode huh.. If you don't mind installing another widget, you can choose several reboot options from widgetsoid and that includes recovery mode.
