Hi there. Recently sony announced ps4 availability in sg at $639. I have a laptop that I use for gaming but isnt powerful, it has a gpu of 635m 2gb. Im going to play fifa 14 and bf4 on either ps4 or gaMing pc. I have a budget of $900 for the new gaming device. Which one should I buy and has better graphics? Thnx

Ps4 due to your tight budget constrain with 900 i dont think you can hit high one bf4 with 60fps . Correct me if im wrong

I recommend ps4 , since your only concern is 2 games and both play fine with controllers.

900 budget is too small for a "gaming" PC. Since you need everything migrating from a laptop, e.g monitor, keyboard, mouse, HDD, etc...

ps4 for fifa no doubt. bf4 you will need to learn the controller if you are used to mouse aiming.

personally i think console gaming and pc gaming is a totally different. i am sucker for typing in games to chat instead of voicing my opinions on the headset. By sitting infront my PC i have access to all my normal entertaiment, gaming, browsing and chatting all in one sitting. While on the console it gets boring after certain time, just me.

pc will be better cuz you can still hook it up to the tv and play fifa/ bf4.. which is what i'm doing now with a AMD 280x. Plays everything at 1080p ultra settings, way better than what the ps4 can offer. I'll still be getting the ps4 though, but only for ps4 exclusives that won't be offered on PC. For everything else, it's the PC for me.

I have a old pc( 4 years) which is not in use as its spoilt. I guess i can make use of the odd right? If i were to buy a gaming pc, i will connect it to my tv, a 40 inch one. I have keyboard and mouse. If i were to go for roy`s build, can i game on high settings for all of the current and future games at 1080p? And i dont know how to assemble a pc and noob in pc tech so i need a shop to assemble for me. And yes i need OS too

For me I'll choose PC over Xbox 1/PS3/PS4. I'm used to be an owner of both PS3 and Xbox360. Let me tell you, it's very boring. The graphics are crap (PS4 is better but still lose to PC). I get frame rates cap, rubbish controllers. Limited features. Not to mention the repairability of consoles is non-existence once you're out of warranty. You fry the chip, you pretty much gotta get a new console.

On PC the graphics are great, you get to enjoy >60 FPS gaming, you get to multitask, better communication system with friends like Skype, steam. You get to enjoy steam sales, your gaming PC can be used for entertainment, work, editing all in one. Mouse & keyboard are the way to go. You get to own a cool piece of hardware seating on top of your desk & the sense of achievement if you know how to build it yourself. It's more bang for buck & more fun IMO

Unless the games that you're playing are exclusive to consoles or games that are meant to be play on consoles like FIFA/PES/NBA. Then console is the way to go. For the price of PS4, i would rather get a PC with a little bit of top up.

You can reuse your HDD, ODD & ram (if it's DDR3). You can get the shop to assemble it for you, just make sure you're there when they assemble it. Roy's build can handle most games at ultra. The games you mentioned can definitely handle it.

But you will miss some amazing PS exclusives from Naughty Dog, that is if you play other game genres.

I would say go for pc.

I have a long history of console gaming. Since sega master system ii console till the current ps3.

Back then, console was the cheapest solution to game. Given the fact that can own ahem games. Now the table has turned. Although pc is expensive for the start, but the games are cheaper than consoles. Ps3 games are not pocket friendly when it just launch.

And console gamings are not really that smooth as pc. Pc can give 60fps or more on 1080p resolution. As per compared to ps3 around 35fps?

I will only buy the ps4 when the slim version is out. Its good to have ps4 if you have exclusive games to play like god of war, final fantasy and kingdom hearts.

Else fps, strategy, starcraft, dota, c&c and diablo games, mouse and kb win hands down over consoles.

The only thing I like about consoles is, whatever games I buy, it can definitely be played.

PC also can play Ahem games, console cannot, haha. But most importantly is the graphics. 1-2 years time your graphics card can't get 60fps on the latest games? no problem, slap in the latest card and you can play everything at the highest settings again.

Build a mini itx PC, attach a wireless keyboard and mouse to it for FPS/diablo/strategy games, and wireless controller if you want to play fifa/skyrim/assassins creed. Hook it up to TV and you it will be a console killer.

If u are just gaming. Go for PS4.
It will save you $$ and no lag issues for a few BF/Fifa series
$900 may get you a PC for BF4/Fifa 14 now. But future series is

My recommendations is to get both PS4 and PC. Best of both worlds. There are exclusive games on both of these platform. But if only can get one atm maybe PS4 first ba.

All games that is released definitely will run on the console without major issues. (With the exception of whether the game developer decides to release to both microsoft, sony, nintendo, etc. console)

If you want a balance of them, get a PC, and if your PC starts to not support game at high end settings. You can always either lower them or do an upgrade of the system. If not demanding on ultra settings, usually a decent gfx card upgrade cycle will be around 2-4 years.

Btw do pc's have wireless gaming controller? Sick of using wired controller haha. And Roy mentioned that with a 900 dollar set up I can run battlefield 4 at ultra settings and I guess the 1.5k rig can too so what's the advantage of the 1.5k rig over the 900 dollar gaming pc? if the purpose just play game, go for PS4 ... buy it and practically you no need to UPGRADE! unless it spoil after one year...

buy PC, on the long run will be more expensive due to keep on upgrading whether you "need" or you "want" cos kena poison etc... not to mention decent high performance graphic card cost you $400-500 (thats just the graphic card only)

as for the game, PS4 game, after play can just resale it, if its still quite new, resale value is there.... PC game abit more difficult... cos those who wanna buy resale game due to wanna save $ might just go for ahem game.....

but if you multitask, then PC will be better. so back to your usage pattern.
