i think i missed out something.

Do ask yourself, "What games do I want to play?". Remember, not all games will be released in PC or/and console (i.e. xbox, ps, wii, etc.)

If the question is: Should I get a PC to replace my console as a gaming device? Then the answer will almost definitely be a no.

Its not worth the cost if you are just looking for the PC to replace your games console. You should however get a PC if you're looking at it as more than a simple gaming hardware ie. as a pure entertainment hub and more.

For me the answer is get a PC but I do my gaming, video capture/editing, game modding and movie and TV viewing on my PC and so its worth is way beyond any simple console to me. That might not be the case for you. You should consider the overall cost of both devices and see which is more worth it in terms of price and the usage you hope to get out of it.

One thing the PC has over the PS4 in terms of gaming is the cost of games. My cousin recently pre-ordered FIFA 14 for $80; on Origin the cost is almost half that amount. Not to mention Steam, Steam trading sites, GMG, Nuuvem, GOG all have prices way below the average cost of most console games and their prices drop very quickly. On top of that they also have regular sales events making the game prices even more cheaper.

If you want to compare PC and PS4 in terms of just gaming, I would say the PC has a much bigger initial cost of entry but the long terms benefits will soon overtake the PS 4 and be the better investment.

i have a gaming PC, able to run everything on max. Long term definitely PC saves a lot more money. With all the game discount sites.

But I am still getting the PS4 for console only games. 2 of the examples are FF15 and Kingdom hearts 3.
And also have 3 PS vita to go along with the PS4.
For me, PS4 is for console only games, and also multiplayer games when u have friends over to play together.

Hi there again. Thnx a lot for the recommendations. I`ve read some articles on the parts that you have recommended, all seems good especially your gpu. However, i have some questions for you.

1) Why choose a i5 3350p processor? Read that it`s based on ivy bridge, aka last gen so i dont think its future proof for the next 2 years right?

2) The ram supports up to only 1600mhz, why not choose a higher speed, the higher the clock the faster and smoother the computer runs right?

3) For the ssd based on what i read, its good value as its cheap. However, there have been complaints that the write speed is slower than advertised (around half the speed after a few months of use). Should i be worried?

4) I want a casing that has a side window, just for showing off hahaha

If need be, i can add in $100 more. Planning to get the rig on the second week of december. Sry for asking so much questions and i don`t mean to be offensive to anyone. And i`ll be getting a psp vita 2000 to play the playstation exclusive games so my mind has been made up to buy a pc. Happy evening everybody

1. I5-3350p is the previous gen CPU. It is also the same specs as the i5-3470 just do not have inter grated GPU. Well if you think of increasing the budget of cause an MSI b85m g43 + i5-4570 ~ $356 will be a better choice. Newer with support for dual amd GPU in future if you need more horsepower. This CPU is the same speed as the previous gen i5-4570/3350p.

2. You can't feel any difference from 1600mhz onwards. Not unless you use benchmarking tools and*results wil be able to tell you the difference. Else to a naked eye you can't see it.


3. Silicon power is a budget ssd. Good for people whom have a tight budget. If you want can considered a plextor m5p or corsair force LS.

4. CM311 has a side window panel. But if you want more attractive chassis can consider the fractal design r4 with side window or my personal favourite corsair carbide 540 air.

But basically, to answer your question yes it is possible to get a good rig going with ur budget.

Lastly, is there any thing if u like to re-use from your previous rig? E.g. HDD, since it's a new rig u would have a SDD for primary drive, y not through in ur old one as storage purposes? Save some cost in between. Such items that can be re-used are not much, DVD -Drive, Casing if u dun mind the same look.

That's my money saving tips i guess.
