If you placed a weak candidate, the probability of winning is low.

If PS placed Mr Happy or Dang there, the odd would be higher.

PS is ambitious. He wanted to take on GRC instead. That’s why he placed his A team in Punggol.

His team has been working on Punggol for years whereas Jalan Kayu was only carved out this year.

Remember. Demographics is a huge consideration. Alexis is more useful at Punggol than in a SMC.

I can tell you that the residents there don’t even know who is Andre no matter how credible he is. His presence is never felt at all.

Don't know for sure, but Sylvia is more politically experienced and can match NCM in that regard. She is also older, and us being an Asian society and still relatively traditional, voters are more likely to look up to an older candidate. Furthermore, Sylvia has been in this for a lot more years than Andre, and is a more recognisable name.

So in that sense, Victor is damn lucky to score a win before he retires from politics. This will be the biggest gift from the party.

In the era of social media, I think most of the residents already knew who is Andre.
As for me, I’m convinced by him with his speech and body language during the rally speech.
All the newbies from PAP really CMI.
They should have stayed on in their respective jobs.
