also need to work the gnd in terms of continously doing stuff for the community . if ppl cannot see what you can bring them, they also wont vote de.

i think lmw state upfront something abt policymaker than estate manager. then can kiss the old retiree boomers goodbye le.

cos they just want more estate stuff. like free tcm, holiday events, health check, things that cant get on their own without the PA. they not selling their house , so hdb price nothing to do with them.

wp run alot of pgms in HG & outreach to residents and they dont get as high as pap in jurong. that says a lot.

Funding aside I don't know, but they should have a lot of old people helping behind the scenes. They just cannot attract the young charismatic speaking candidates.

not true. i actually like lmw n hazel. they got the resilent and never say die attitude for their ideals & actually comes with solid plans n data to back up what they say.

tcb is a overuse mascot. i move in from the east side (tpy) when i'm young ( & i'm gen x) my parents n i dont know him at all.

the sentimental thing dun appeal to me , same can be said for any new residents, & there is a lot of new citizen in the west side.

with new bto in nanyang, there will only be more younger crowd too.

you need a figure head to helm a party. Hazel and LMw are great people I do like them too but they are not charismatic leaders. Sdp has csj, WP has Pritam.. psp is waning as TCB is too old..

entire singapore west is filled with economic refugee new citizens and their Sink spouse and children
these people only care about not rocking their boat so they can retire back in their own third world country like kings and queens.

TCB thought he's like the savior of SG that ppl long wanted for. But for ppl in the east like me, I didn't know him well before his involvement in the presidential election.

新加坡前进党本届大选全军覆没，受访政治观察家认为，前进党在国会中的表达方式和传达的信息未获选民认可，而随着党主席陈清木医生退下，前进党接下来恐怕走向没落。

前进党本届大选出征六个选区。由陈清木领军并包括两名原非选区议员潘群勤和梁文辉的“最强团队”出征西海岸—裕廊西集选区，获得39.99%选票，败给行动党团队。前进党出征的另外五个选区，得票率则介于24.17%到36.41%。

新加坡管理大学杨邦孝法学院副教授陈庆文受访时分析，前进党的表现不尽理想，可能因为他们在国会中的表达方式和传达的信息不获选民认可。

他指出，前进党提出的一些政策替代方案可能让国人觉得过于激进，例如设定最低工资、以更低成本建造组屋提案，在缺乏详情和数据支撑的情况下，可能让选民觉得不值得信任，尤其缺乏财政上的可持续性。

“陈清木牌”未奏效 反映选民不易被情感影响​

85岁的陈清木是最后一次参选，此前有舆论认为，选民可能因此更倾向投票支持他，但这最终并未实现。陈庆文指出，“陈清木牌”没有奏效，反映出新加坡选民不容易被受情感因素影响。

行动党前国会议员殷吉星同样认为，“陈清木效应”正在逐渐减弱，因为年轻选民对他的认识并不及年长选民深入。

南洋理工大学拉惹勒南国际研究院高级研究员张嘉松则将前进党在西海岸—裕廊西集选区落败的主因，归咎于选区范围的变化。

学者：选区范围变化 也可能是落败原因之一​

前进党上届大选出征西海岸集选区并以微差落败，该选区在本届大选中，部分范围划入丹戎巴葛集选区，再与原属裕廊集选区的裕廊西和达曼裕廊区合并，成为西海岸—裕廊西集选区。

张嘉松分析，裕廊集选区此前由高人气、时任国务资政的尚达曼总统领军，这些地区的选民或许仍然记得尚达曼对新加坡的贡献，因而继续支持行动党。他认为，前进党的落败可能是出于选民对当前经济不确定性的担忧，加上选区重新划分所致。

本次大选，前进党候选人不在反对党落选者得票率最高两人之列，原本由潘群勤和梁文辉担任的两个非选区议员席位将由工人党人填补，这意味着前进党将不会在国会有任何议席。

Have a break..think thoroughly through and have a committee meeting to discuss where to go from here. Tcb has to step down as chairman already and become just founder/member status.

If the decision is to disband so be it as well, would find it a waste but totally understandable considering the party needs resource to maintain and if they lack ideas how to bring forward

WP during JbJ era suffered worst faith but WP manages to pick itself up quickly

I believe if TCB willing to fully let go control and let younger cadres move up, they can a force to reckon with in western Singapore
