WE have to cut the expense of the gahment, the civil services, defence then use the $$$ save for healthcare, social services and education.
Now the TOP is getting very heavy, so many million $$$$ ministers, MP, civil servants.... just look at UK and US, they are chopping these high paid JLB, we should do the same.

MP salary no more than 100K a year
Minister salary no more than 200K a year
Top civil servant no more than 150K a year.

If they dont like they can go work in private sector or drive Grab.

All these "opposition" exist to oppose PAP only. No proper platform. Don't even know how much different they are from PAP either.
Plus the fact is PAP represents wishes of majority of SG anyway.
Low income taxes. No capital gains tax. No investment income tax.
Jobs first. Money first.
Property ownership over rentals.
Efficient government.
Good infrastructure
Cheap local food.
Strong SGD to travel

Nothing much to offer which PAP don't.

Opposition should stop calling themselves opposition or be allowed to be called opposition. Unite under another party to be alternative to PAP offer same policies but with better candidates.

Clearly WP SDP SMLJP all cannot.

I think lately also the salary of Minister and MP is too little to attract really good people to politics. Easier to just trade stocks invest in property get finance job earn more money maybe even tax free.

If what you say is true then why ppl vote for WP and PSP? Every oppies party manifestos is also prices go up, gst, HDB flats selling for more than $1 m all caused by pap.

I'm not against FTs. I'm pro FTs because they provide rental income for me. But reality is as such.

Personally im not convinced that a sinkie will be hired to replace every FT that leaves.

Not every single sinkie has the qualification and experience to take on pmet job even if there r no FTs.

That's why WP is seeking a revamp in the education system
What is the point that we seek paper qualification, only those who passed with flying colours would be scholars and civil servants and those who don't be blue collars?
If PAP just want to take shortcuts, then be voted out.

I think u r mistaken.

PMET is more than just scholar and civil servants.

In between scholars/civil servants and blue collar is a large number of PMETs.

Can trim the top for sure, but do not ever follow the US and UK system - it's beyond trash and cultivates NATOs.

With the above salary that you've suggested, we won't have talents in the government at all - we have to be competitive to the private sector else you end up having more monkeys in parliament, no thank you.

Just like any hiring you do in SME, MNC or wherever - we choose smart people and leave them to do the job, not choose monkeys and having to manage monkeys - then we hire them for ****, waste time and energy.

It's the oppie vote.
But it is minority.
Oppie themselves say they dowan to form govt.
Manifesto is for show only.
There is no option for a different govt in SG.

Its possible to completely vote out pap in all GRC and SMC. Then Singapore will have all the oppie parties inside parliament that time say dun wan form govt also must form. Haha

Define talent. Does it mean being one of top in the army knows how to serve the citizens well?

Do you mean that in other countries when ministers or president are not highly paid mean they are not talented or smart?

lastly, do you prefer someone who governs because they want to primarily get the high pay to justify or because they want to serve with their heart and the pay comes secondary?
