when i was young, my mom also call my fren KLK, and my KLK friend is happily eating with me playing soccer downstairs, he called us chinese terms also, it's more like 'endearment' feeling and not racist.

but i would agree times have changed, and the auntie needs to be aware such terms can be misinterpreted these days.

but the issue is, in this exact situation, she meant no racism to her teammate, it's clear as the sky. But a mistake is a mistake, apologise is the right thing.

but when things like this gets blown out of proportion, gutter politics is coming back again. I am super disappointed, GE after GE, i thought we have moved forward in the quality of discussion... no change sia.
