If everything is so sensitive then maybe the group party leader should print out a list of all the banned words and make the candidates memorize it

Clearly this is not a worthy candidate if she isn't even sensitive enough to know what she should or should not say, and requires voters to print out a list of banned words for her?

is a slur towards Singaporean Indians.

Cause you are indirectly referring them as not belonging to Singapore but from that area.
Isn’t to PAP we are all immigrants?

Chinese - Deng Sua Kia
Malaysians - Jiu Hu Kia
Japanese - Jip Boon Kia

The Hokkiens and Teochews just called everyone Kia as the fellow citizens were from the various countries stated. It just a convenient and informal way of labelling different origins. For later generations, the word “kia” evolved to mean descendants.

The only term that may be seen as offensive is we don’t call Americans and British, Bee Kok Kia and Eng Kok Kia. We call them Ang Moh Gui. Even then, I think it’s an affectionate term. 🤣

this gigene wong cmi really. i attended SDP rally on the first day and all i learned about is how cham she is as a caregiver for her elderly father who suffers from Alzheimer, and how she came from the rungs to study accounting and become a CFO in a chinese MNC company in beijing. I'm sure the way she talks with her body languages left a bad taste in many.

the ariffin guy is also not some innocent chap.. he is founder of wakeupsingapore. their content also quite controversial huan. he also sibei woke.. think migrant workers are the good one.

want to watch him debate lim tean on jobs.

No one has any problems with migrant workers. In fact we should be really grateful to them for building our country.

it’s the flood of foreign PMET talents that’s the problem.

Good that SDP leadership addressed this quickly and properly. Credit for that as it will help SDP gain more respect and credit from others. Not sure that woman is that great a candidate, and with this mistake she did not help her already slim chances and probably won't be selected for next election.

Then you are young. U go ask old ppl, "uncle you know about the K-word", see how they respond.

The context is very impt. we can go all over the places, but the key issue is the intention.

Make a mistake, apologise, you decide it's a big mistake or a genuine small mistake.
If keep harping on this and trying to steer it towards something nefarious and out of context, then people can also sense the intent.

just have a clean and sensible discussion about real issues and not derail back into past GEs of gutter politics and useless conversations.

it is disappointing to me.
