erm..... Ministers who move on and pass on their former positions to successors got 2 choices:
- Stay on to contribute. Means be Senior Minister.
- Retire. Means leave as Minister.

Pinky still contributing to govt work actively. that's why he's SM what. :o
i am sure he & mdm ho ching contributes actively to S'pore, infact courting trouble for S'pore...

Personally feel that we should just reform our electoral system.
FPTP is really outdated, except for US/SG/UK most of the developed countries around the world is employing PR (with parallel voting)

Adopt Proportional representation and introduce parallel voting.

Then properly separate Municipal duties and lawmaker duties.

Thereafter, completely make civil service non-partisan (like what we see in Nordic Countries/Switzerland/Austria/Nehtlernads/Germany/Japan, etc.)

Last step is to practice separation of power, which allows head-of-states to be able to be impeached by a neutral judge which is non-partisan.

Also we need term limits too (Max 2 terms of 4-5 years each).

If you are the one in charge, you will not be proposing this. The party you support adopts a similar model to PAP.

PSP is actually the party which aligns with my views the most, just that they are more focused in the west as compared to WP in the east. PSP and LMW, have enquired HSK about the possibility of proportional representation in a public session before.

Govt will have ‘enough leeway’ even if all WP candidates are elected: Pritam Singh

Even if all 26 WP candidates are voted into Parliament in this election, the Government will still have enough space to deal with issues of the day, said WP chief Pritam Singh at a media doorstop this morning.

He added that if Singaporeans vote all the opposition party’s candidates into Parliament, the ratio of WP MPs to ruling party MPs will be only “about two or three to nine”.

“The Government has enough space, enough leeway, enough focus to deal with the issues of today and tomorrow,” said Mr Singh.

During the interview, Mr Singh and his party members also fielded questions from the reporters about the NTUC Income Insurance-Allianz saga, foreign interference in local politics, and the reception that Tampines residents have given the WP team.

They can't do without him
Nobody else is good enough to argue with WP.
Which is also why MinLaw is the only ministry that needs an actual lawyer.
The rest are just figureheads.

I am glad to hear that. I find PSP aligns most to me too though i dun think PAP will ever be ok with proportional representation.

Well....
He and some one else can stand tall and give their wonderful lecture before their rental issue was highlighted.
Now, they can't.

To all voters - think about this question.

Should NTUC/Union be separated from political party?

This debate has been going on in years in parliament. It will lead to no outcome because all the labor PAP MPs as well as other PAP MPs will not support this notion. WP MPs can constantly bring up this topic for debate in parliament but the outcome will be the same.

To all the union members, do you feel that NTUC/Union should be a subset of a political party aka PAP. If the answer is YES, please enlighten the reasons to those who are not union members.

Workers' Party (WP)'s Faisal Manap was responding to questions during a media doorstop on Apr. 28.

He said that he views the general election as a competition between teams, rather than individuals pitting against each other.
