Yes, you need both the original Tasker app and the TaskS2 plugin installed on your *phone*. You have to pay for both apps.

You don't have to pay for the TaskS2 app on the *watch*.

Tasker allows you to automate tasks on your phone. For instance, you can create a "task" called "Outdoor" that does 3 things - switch on bluetooth, increase ringer volume and change ring tone. This "Outdoor Task" can be activated at specific times/situations or on demand.

The Gear S2 plugin allows you to activate these tasks from your S2. So I can activate the "Outdoor Task" from my watch without having to pull my phone from my pocket. Similarly, I can activate another "Silent" task when the situation requires it.

I'm still very new to Tasker but it appears to be a very powerful app. The above is one possible use of Tasker that I think makes sense with the Gear S2.

IP68 is not certified for swimming activity. It can be submerged in still water. During swimming, the device will undergo tremendous pressure which IP68 will not handle. Similarly, you shouldn't wear it for bathing due to water pressure.
