Regarding the 'short term' comment, take a look at post 4577 again, where I shared the strategy I took for FLCT. What I did for MNACT is similar to what I did for FLCT as well as some of the other counters I held, when opportunities arises.

I already mentioned that Dapperman should be looking at what investors are holding and how they are making money, instead of always asking whether this or that REIT is good!

agree on FLCT strategy. Sold half of my holdings to wait for better price.

hope CLCT can resurrect and reach 1.30 soon for me to exit

That strategy is good but don't always work.
1) Price may not go down to your initial cost price.
2) If you are not a TA person, you may guess the wrong direction.

I find that better way is to average down when price drop alot but provided the REIT or company is good.
Or as what @soneat, apply for more excess during Right Issue, this also help to average down.
After average down, when the price went up, you can reduce your holding if you want.

Just a comment.
Actually, I do not need the price to go down to my initial cost price. As long the share price is range bound, I can reap the difference, book the profit and lower my average cost (slowly).
If got time and opportunity, I will do more of this. If no time no opportunity, that's OK as well.

So far this strategy has worked consistently well for me. Having said that, execution matters as well and so this is not something anyone can just copy and paste..

BTW, MNACT and MCT merger news is out. Look at Post #502 of the MNACT .

Share price is range bound is good for traders.
True, not anyone can just copy and paste.
For long term dividend income play, I will not do that. I trade that way with other stocks not REITs.

Would like to share a post regarding Singapore REITs Performance in 2021
Which Singapore REITs provided the best returns? Is there any REIT that provided more than 20% returns? Or any REIT provided negative returns? You could find all these in my post.
https://www.reit-tirement.com/2022/01/top-10-singapore-reits-with-best.html

Hi, thanks for the useful data on the site. Minor data comment:
If every year you report the stock performance by looking at year opening price to year closing price, you are missing out one day which for some counters may mean missing out a big jump.

To give an example:
In 2020 you report the stock performance between 2 Jan 2020 - 31 Dec 2020
In 2021 you report the stock performance between 4 Jan 2020 - 31 Dec 2021

You are missing out the 'gain'/price change between 31 Dec 2020 to 4 Jan 2020. For example, Yahoo finance say CDLHT jumped 4 cents on from $1.22 to $1.26 4 Jan 2020 (though sometimes Yahoo finance is wrong).

The implication is that if you did a 2-year performance time series for REITS between for 2020 and 2021, the numbers won't match exactly your single year analysis because of the missing day?

Thanks for reading. Yes, you are right, some counters would have differences between the 2020 close price and the 2021 open price. When writing this post, I have checked through and only less than 10 counters have the differences, which amount to 1 cents or 0.5 cents. So for the purpose of my post, I have decided to use the 2021 opening price instead.

True. CDL Hospitality Trust was a bit odd, but since its one of my largest holdings, I took notice. 😅

There were relatively large price moves between 31 Dec 2020, 4 Jan 2021, and 5 Jan 2021 - these are all big moves - The return can change quite a bit depending which day you use as the 'start date'....

I just checked from stock cafe and yahoo finance, for CDLHT, both closing on 31 Dec 2020 and opening on 4 Jan 2021 are at S$ 1.27, the same price. I think you are using the adjusted price from Yahoo Finance? For my post, 2021 open price = 4 jan 2021 open price.

Thanks, always appreciated your analysis.

Though I feel it's a waste sharing your work here, cos people here have a rather fixed mindset, esp if they have a vested interest. Ohers will nitpick on your analysis for all the small things, which you have seen and will be seeing more of.

Here and sharejunction as well.. only good news and praises will be positively received.
