I think his 5k is for single with no dependents
He is supporting his parents annually 40k.
If parents healthy just about right but if got illness need go to and fro hospital times 2 ppl hmmm... unless he has siblings to chip in? The 2 items that affect one is elderly parents and children and for some throw in spouse too. Truly free is only you alone and no one else then those monies you earned really only feed ownself.

Assuming 5% dividend yield, his capital is 4m..
He did not really say how he get that massive capital… I live simply too- no car and stay in HDB..he stays in condo & drive.. but don’t think I can reach his level.. not even close
he did mention in the fifth person video he made 500k in trading alone in his younger years.

then during gfc 2008-2009 he almost all in.. easily 3-4x gains that time.

the misleading part is he already had such a large warchest from other sources of incomes rather than saving on a 5k salary. though he did mention he worked 3 jobs at one time in the past also.

What's the point of discussing about someone's success story when nothing can be replicable with guarantee success?

i agree that if the blog just talk about how much money they have, it wouldn't be that helpful. it would be like an influencer posting photos of his/her expensive stuff.

But to be fair to these bloggers, apart from talking about how much dividends they have, at least they share their portfolio, what they are buying, so people can DYODD. To me thats better than someone that can type wall of text but never share their portfolio and purchases

6 years ago his dividend income was $168k, :

so if it's now $200k, it means that even though he is not earning income, he is still managing to grow his dividends, despite being heavily vested in SG shares. Thats the power of dividends

agree his blog is quite messy. Since he FIRE maybe he should invest in a content creation course. this sort of blog won't be read by the younger generation.

Its important to learn new skills to remain relevant, even during FIRE.
don't forget he earns ads review from his website too, not only dividends

Can anyone share what's the difference between "Group" and "Trust" in financial statement?

For example FCT's annual report. I assume "Trust" means FCT itself? Who does "Group" refers to and what causes the difference in the number reported.

Thanks!

Seems like boat sailing away slowly.

Good for those who bought 1-2 months ago.

Buy this month also can make money, no need to have perfect market timing, can buy if still undervalued.
Bought Frasers Log Trust and Far East HT at the start of the month, among others.
