a value investor might fall into this trap also leh
you are probably talking about market cycle strategy, rather than value investing strategy??![]()
yep, that's value investingvalue investing is, to me, recognising a company's worth, stick to it (as long as fundamentals are still good) so that you won't be influenced by market noise. Not to forget to take advantage of market weakness to increase your position, instead of blindly selling to cut loss. Just my 2 cents
Warren buffet once said: "buy a stock as if it is the last day of trading and the stock market will not open in five years." (something like that)
That should not make anyone lose any sleep.

Long term investing is putting money that you will not need for a long time... with the mentality that you are prepared to take nothing back
How you max return and minimize your risk?as an investor, i would invest in a company that can maximise my returns AND at the same time minimise my risk.

For me to max return and minize my risk I use TA+FA
How about you? How you max return and minimize your risk?

i agree on this. One of the aspects of fundamental analysis is to buy stocks with a good margin of safety ie low valuations. that partly takes care of the down side.

i agree on this.
Any other ways to manage risk?![]()

got own strategy doesnt mean its perfect mah. Must keep on refine and make it even betterI thought you already got your ultimate strategy?
TA+FA say buy then you buy?
Then why still asking here?
Share share what stocks you're vested in leh.... we wanna know how your TA+FA works and if they work.

yep, that's value investing
What about risk management. There are risks in every investment, be it value, dividend, growth or technical analysis.
What if the value is actually $0, but I miscalculated it to be $100? Or there's some world events that reduced the value to $0?
Or some fraud, like Eratrat Lifestyle. Great value, PE=1.9. Now kanna suspended.

yes true.true, but what if something went wrong with the company which caused the valuation to go down and further down? Wiser to understand why the margin of safety is there. Was it due to a one time occurrence which should not drag the stock down long term, etc.
Anyone read last week's article? Lawmakers raise flag on rising business costs
Refer to the 8th and 9th paragraph. How does it impact REITS in the future??
well i cut losses on some of my mapletree counters mainly MCT and MIT, waiting to cut loss for MLT.
the market doesn't really like mapletree counters...so would prefer to deploy my funds elsewhere.

precisely because market doesnt like mapletree counters, now its selling cheap, thats why you buy it now cheaply and sell it when market likes it mah?well i cut losses on some of my mapletree counters mainly MCT and MIT, waiting to cut loss for MLT.
