Malaysia is much bigger than Singapore; there's no single telco's SIM that can work in the whole Peninsula, let alone the whole of Malaysia.

What works in town, may not work along the NSHW, may not work in Genting Highlands, may not work in kampong areas.

Some users are satisfied with just E connection, some prefer H/H+, while others want 4G.

Just sharing, just my observation/experience/opinion, the rest is up to the individual member's choice. :)

so far hotlink nvr failed me although pay little more

any1 know much the fee for genting replacement card? to clock points 1..?

rm10 last time
now not sure
A friend wasn't charged when he got his card replaced. No idea why, but my guess is they could have waived for active ($) members. =:p

My primary line is Hotlink and I love seeing the "4G" on my phone. :s13:

Having said that, whenever I can't get any connection from outlaying areas, I'll turn to my Celcom XPAX secondary line. ;)

From what I've gathered from the Malaysians, Celcom has the widest coverage (covering kampung area, Sabah, and Sarawak in places where other networks can't), while Maxis gives strong coverage where it is present. And yes, these are the ones that cost slightly more, but worth every cents IMO. Just looking at the advertising boards and banners of businesses over there, we can more or less see which are the more popular ones. :)

Genting in June

I see some members here planning a Genting trip in June, which is normally a peak period.

But why June? Is it because it's a school holiday period? With the theme park undergoing such a major work, what can the kids do there? :s11:

Can the existing Tron Sim be used and reload?

Does this means there's no way to get Tron Sim at Genting anymore?

From the Tron website, you can "get credits" from the 2 Digi shops in Genting (in First World Hotel and another in Genting Hotel). This sounds like "reload" to me, not sure if they sell the SIM packs over there.

See under Pahang:
http://www.tron.com.my/tron-store-locator/

DiGi Shop
(First World): LOT F/L 2A24, Level T2A, First world hotel,
Genting Highlands Resorts, 69000 Genting Highlands,
03-64362118

DiGi Shop
(Highland): Lot G/LG 14.00, Lower Ground Floor, Genting Hotel
Genting Highlands resorts, 69000 Genting Highlands
03-6101 2119

The Tron cards can still be used and reloaded, only that Genting doesn't have free SIM packs for its members anymore.

For reload of Tron cards, you can try these Digi shops mentioned above, but these days, the 7-Eleven stores nationwide have also started selling Tron reload vouchers. (Actually it's their machine-printed receipt. =:p )

Edit: Someone here has shared a while back that Tron does sell/mail their SIM packs to Singapore, if you want to get it from them directly. Can email them at cs@tron.com.my. :)

You can purchase their premium package which include chips / rooms / buffet.
It cost about RM3000/6000, cant remember. Can call genting to check.

Thank you. Can few people khup money and share the room?

Think by right the room is limited to 2 pax but then by left more can stay in the same room if never get caught. They seldom if not never catch people on this issue (as far as i know). ;)
