i read the recent google reviews for the new theme park

a lot of 1-star reviews saying half of the attractions are closed

not all the rides were open. As it's a soft launch, so i supposed there are another 50% of the rides that will open in end of the year (as written by SkyWorlds) i think it's more annoying that the rides are down, resume, then next moment down again. Happened a lot of times in the noon. Very frustrating esp after queuing for 15-20mins.

Booked a First World Hotel Tower 3 Room and self checked in at the kiosk. Process was quite fast. Definitely one of the cheapest and most convenient location in Genting. Paid extra 10rm for early check- in and floor selection . However.... My floor selection turned out to be a very bad decision... The room that I was allocated to was poorly maintained and to some point, it was eerie... There were mutliple red vandalism marks and random stains all over the wall. To add on, brownish-red stains could be observed on the fan's base. This totally creeped me out! Ended up staying in the lobby the entire night because there were no other available rooms to switch to until the very next day. Since its peak season now, all nearby hotels are already fully booked. What an experience! Choose your rooms wisely...!

Got pros and cons. With digital key you get early check in without paying early check in fees. And the rooms can be on high floor with good views. But current the way they implement this is silly because you still have to queue to get the digital key validation code. And the queue can be very long.

Nothing much to add to the FR from various bros and sis here except to stress once more it is crowded AF.

And this week earn and redeem is shitty. Nothing special unlike April got massage, Korean gift sets, etc.

Best to avoid June esp weekends. 10 to 12th June I think very unlikely to get rooms liao cos of the lucky draw and what not.

The customer service gal said now with the crowds coming back, all prebooked in advance until jul/Aug as soon as they rec marketing emails for comps.

So, bros here better fast hand fast leg.

Saw many bad reviews about FWH staff services and rooms condition during this period. Dirty, smelly and cigarette smell for non smoking rooms etc.

Hi, just came back from Genting and would like to share my humble review

Skyworld theme park
• Skyworld theme park ONLY accept cashless payment.
• Best to buy tickets via the apps. It's very easy and smart way to use
• be there at 1045am even if the operating hour is 11am, cos can take photo and chiong for the rides.
• with the apps, you can do the VQ. Can also take note of which rides is down. During my visit, there were a lot of rides, down and resume, down and resume again. So be prepared to be annoyed that you queue 30mins for it, and you cant take the ride. It's a norm here. But occasionally, they may offer you 50% off for your next visit due to too often technical issue or rain. (Valid for 12mths). I was given the voucher cos a lot of the rides were down. Just need to take from the staff before leaving. And i didnt realise until i saw the notification from the skyworld apps

Casino
• tables are limited. They dont open 24hrs. Tables like 3 cards poker, 3 gong and texas poker etc, may close really early like 1am. Baccarat and slot machines are always available. This happened even on a friday night. I highly suspect cos they lacking of manpower.
• tables rate for 3 card poker is at minimum RM50. Texas abt RM100. So they didnt mark up the price. (As per wed, thurs and fri rate)
• old casino is operating. But really dont bother. It's no longer as glamorous as it used to be. Half of the casino is closed. Limited tables. All slot and smoke.
• can try going in the morning or afternoon to get a seat. Cos they close early
• have to change genting card. Change at #2 above casino, beside uniqlo.


Genting premium outlet
• Take Awana sky cable car to go down. Abt RM18 to and fro, RM35 for glass floor one.
• things in the mall is okay. But a bit boring for me. I prefer Johor Premium Mall instead. Cos the price seems to be slightly higher than Johor one.
• not much selection of food.
• can download the apps to check it out

Skyworld hotel
• This hotel is new and nice. Just directly beside the Skyworld theme park. If you are late and light sleeper, please remember to ask for rooms not facing the theme park. Cos by 1030am, they will blast the music to welcome guests and the other facing has city/garden view
• wall very thin. Can hear my next door family's kids crying. And also people chatting outside the corridor. But i guess it's normal for Genting room
• got wifi
• sheltered walkway

indeed we are like beggars sometimes, and we wonder why after donating huge sums in the casino, still must q for makan for example! n past midnight u got nothing to eat! u r left to yourself to goto b5 for poor mans food.

unless u r platinum of course.

actually to me important is drinks MUST be available , food is secondary

anyway just use gp for rooms bah at the moment

hi, yes! There is an apps, call genting skyworlds. You can buy the tickets from the apps cos is faster. Alternatively, download genting highland apps, call resorts world genting. If you want to buy from the actual ticket counter, there will be a queue. I went before the school holiday. So i dont know how is the crowd gonna be during school holiday. With the apps, it's fast and smooth.

they will send you the QR code, you just scan and go in. Let's say you have 5 pax, you can even group the tickets and book VQ together. So you dont need to do it one at a time to book a ride. But once you group, you cannot ungroup. So make sure everyone agrees to take certain ride. Cos only free 5/6 VQ rides.

indoor theme park also can buy from the apps. They have a bundle. But must lock down the dates. Indoor theme park also has the RM 82 for 10 rides. So if you dont need 2 kids for unlimited rides, you can buy that to share and use. But only can buy from counter.

i am not sure if you can earn points though.

as for genting card, i haven been going up for 5/6 years. So mine, might have a lot of changes. Not too sure for all. But it's super long queue to change. If you dont need, then it's okay. It's all via that systems now. Play slot machine you need that to cash out. No longer the voucher style. My sister went 2 years ago, her genting card also need to change. Hope this gives you a rough guideline on whether yours is still working.

I queued abt 45mins to make the change, and that's abt 945pm. Please bring passport also. My sister said, midnight lesser queue.

if the queue is horrendous, please go to the old casino (where the old hao yong ji was) it's shorter.

WTS had such bus+hotel booking.

Once you got there, check in to your rooms, take a break, later go straight to SkyCasino Membership counters get a free membership card, Singaporean likely get Silver card, whch give u access to silver club, and have shorter priority queue in cable car.

Every 6-9 points you get from Casino games or affiliated shops, you could redeem for meals.
The Prawn dumpling noodle not bad, I loved their ZhaJiang Noodle.

If you a big timer gambler, accumulated 300 pts get you Gold Card, go change Silver to Gold card.

The Gold-and-above cafe at the VIP cafe got better 9GP western meal set. I recalled its Chicken Chop?
Long time ago, the best cheap 3-6GP western food at New Orleans cafe closed down at old casino many years ago.

You likely got free rooms messages via SMS in the coming months. Especially Birthday month.

i feel thats the safest..

u book with agoda or booking is 3rd party
book through travel agency they give u 1 peice of paper
u go queue up then they give u room
i dont wanna deal with that kinda nonsense
just book direct with rwgenting on their website no drama

if using first world hotel, can self-check in at machine
dont need to queue up

Genting SkyWorlds Hotel or first world hotel
is not bad

those 5-star hotel abit too expensive i feel is overprice

Queue up to use the dozens of kiosks, plus Malaysia Tourism Tax of RM 10 per room per night stay.
Add few extra $$ for scenic view room, near lifts, higher floors, etc. Could be done with kiosk machine without counter intervention,

Even if I checked in alone , I always pick Y5 Triple at a low-peak price of 29GP, which almost confirmed a unblocked scenic view, not a window-to-windows in most rooms in Tower 1 or 2, which u could snoop into other folks room thru thru their non-fully closed windows.
Being unblocked windows, you get fresh cooling air for your room, First world Hotel rooms, dont have aircon since its high up in the mountains, but a hot summer daytime, room temp could be as high as 28 degrees.

All Most hotels' budget rooms in Genting Highlands no aircons.

The difference between FWH Triple room and FWH Y5 Triple is Free WiFi ("Y5")
Note: FWH Standard, Deluxe, Super Deluxe, Triple and World Club, all no free WiFi.
Only the Y5 series had Free in-room assessible WiFi.
