I want to self drive to Genting early next year. Any tips how to book first world hotel online as it’s all fully sold out (hard to believe when it has so many rooms)?

I had taken both WTS and Transtar regularly.

Economical WTS passenger type generally unpredictable, sometimes very rowdy noisy with kids or gossiping market aunties.
Transtar Solitaire or Club-Z at higher price usually passengers well behaved, the seat at a slight bigger gap, conversation usually kept at a minimal. And without food breakfast/dinner rest stop, the travel time is shorter.
Cocoon seat with bigger legroom and vibrating massage chair quite enjoyable for overweight uncle me.
WTS with bigger passenger capacity can be abit cramp.

I only take WTS if my family want XiaoMei Muar Otah or the MingAn's shaobao or eggtarts.
Genting trip is about the destination, never about the 6-hrs journey, it is best kept short and bearable.

Transtar food is edible, not really bad, I do enjoyed the Nasi Lemak with 2 deepfried drumlets last visit.
Fried rice with nuggets and hotdog ok too.

PS: only Transtar ClubZ and Solitaire had food onboard, their economical SuperExpress no onboard food, still stopped at YongPeng.
Both WTS and Transtar got toilet in the bus?

Yes. Nearest hotel I can find is grand ion deleman, not sure if worth it to stay there then drive to FWH daily to gamble

Which dates in Jan 2023 are you looking? 22-23 Jan CNY week is super peak period but still early to be full. Maybe those dates were blocked off but can try to book via travel agents.

i recently parked my car near twr 3 for a week bohtaiji
but no guarantee if someone has eyes on yours.
once i parked right infront of guardhouse near gg but i noticed the guards dont really chup although they did walk around but a skilled car thief probably cld make your car appear at donwtown KL anytime.
not a threat but just wish for luck.

Yup.. smoking area is already installed.. all casinos. Long strip of yellow box, generally near low traffic areas.

the Drink dispensers currently only at Sky Gold/Plat/Crockford.

The other halls had signs showing "coming soon".

I had the chance to test out 4 malaysian telco at FWH Tower 2.
Poor luck to check in late, got the 10th floor windows-to-Windows unit.

My tests:
Digi/RedOne (piggyback on Digi) win them all hands down.. 2-3x faster

Celcom/XOX(piggyback on Celcom) all having 30-40Mbps (Speedtest on phone), but 1-2 Mbps average in IPTV apk, while Digi can go as high as 50+Mbps on phone test, averaging at constantly 3-4Mbps on IPTV apk.

Best spots for window-to-windows units is Door Gap on the floor. Forget about Windows area.. super weak.
For those with theme park view, you can test the windows area and the door, and use Ookla SpeedTest.

Test equipment is Netgear AC810S and my Android TVbox.

Simple SpeedTest tests on mobile phones quite unreliable
I used IPTV as benchmark

Maxis not tested, unless i got lucky at the tables tonight and get a sim to test.

Yes. strict discipline.
I brought $X, and I had already collected $ +0.8X in 2 days, I got another 2 days stay to go.

Its a taboo to talk about gambling here, lets talk about hotel stay, good foods, theme parks and other Genting fun things to do..
