Hotel you are staying yes. Other open wifi non existent even if you are logged on. Get a 30rm Digi card or something, which can last you a mth. Way more convenient vs tied to certain locations. And you can top up via their app whenever even after expiration for your JB trips

I had done extensive speedtest.. digi still give the best speed performance for my IPTV streaming box, and it's unlimited plan.
RM40 (unlimited) + RM5 (unlimited hotspot) for all round unlimited 6mbps speed.
MiFi unit placed near the hotel door for maximum speed. Buy DC extension cable for the AC power. Research "Iptables mangle TTL" to prevent speed throttle on specific devices. I used my winning buying few devices to test. Prolink PRN3006L (indoor), GL.inet GL-MiFi (portable) both very good.
The latter with vpn or DNS very good for japanese documentary shows.

My old Netgear MR2100 still my trusted favorite even it's throttled speed as it's not firmware hackable.
