Can't you see that the distro faked the SRP so as to get an award from HWZ?

I am shocked that HWZ gave a best value award to them when it is actually selling for S$500+.

Just let the distros rot to death if they continue such attitude, dun know if they dumb or think consumers are dumb, still keep chopping when amazon is offering a much more competitive price.

:(:(:(:(:( This is really sad... lol

Lousier components as in 2k caps compared to 5k caps, just provide slightly better longer lifetime, cleaner power etc but performance wise will be the same.

But if EVGA is indeed international warranty. Your asus spoil also lan lan send to us. haha =:p

Considering the prices offshore, I guess if I am to get any PC parts like GPU and SSD, unless there is a compelling reason for me to get locally, otherwise, my money will go to Amazon or Newegg.

People always say, support local companies. But local companies are not supporting the local DIY community. Its not big like in US, but nonetheless, adding to the price will only make the community shrink even more. :o

It's just like the people who demand respect instead of earning them.

The moment i saw a Gigabyte card priced lower than a Palit card, i knew something was fishy. Coz Gigabyte has prided itself with its Windforce coolers. No way a card that is capable of cooling better than Asus DirectCUII can be priced lower than the Palit Jetstream, also considering Palit 2 year warranty versus Gigabyte 3 year warranty. For other cards Gigabyte has a reputation of being a cheaper-than-Asus premium card brand. So no way it can price itself at this price point for the 760. Else it will completely blow other 'cheaper' brands like Palit and Leadtek out of the water.
Oh, by the way, not to discredit Gigabyte so much, but Gigabyte GPU seems to hold on longer to its retail value. Just realised that Asus GTX 670 versions plunged $40 this week upon the release of the GTX 760. MSI GTX 670 fell by $10. Gigabyte GTX 670 hung on to its value.

That's just distro slow to react rather than anything to do with retaining value.

for gfx cards, other than evga, is it true that all other brands purchased from amazon or newegg will have to ship back to USA and buyer will be responsible for 2-way shipping?

Usually that is the case. If the brand says international warranty, check with the local agent if they support or not.

Confirmed with PCThemes that Gigabyte GTX 760 selling at $409. Stocks arriving at their shop sometime later in the day. But be warned: at $409 pricing, most likely stocks will be in small quantities, maybe 5 pcs or so.

Yeah. I raised my suspicion of price markups as mentioned in this thread to them. But according to Yazid, first batch of Gigabyte GTX 760 confirmed coming in at $409. What happens to subsequent batches he dunno. Maybe subsequent batches distros or local retailers may or may not mark up prices.
