Maybe this thread sponsored by ToyotaWe need some byd owners here in this thread!
Need their honest opinions and hear it from them
I have mention they reason why it selling so much is because gov is very vested in gt長城魏建軍:中國已出現「車圈恒大」 比亞迪:根本不存在 已向國家有關部門反映
So how long can it last? Will BYD toh? Many negative things happening and even their locals are very not happy about it.
All this kind of sensors based safety features, driving assistance technologies, aeb are available in most brands fossil fuel cars too. Aeb false activation will result in sudden e brake too.Just read the article. Notwithstanding workmanship and quality assurance issues for this new car mentioned in the article, if materials are also prone to fast corrosion and perish, more system may fail. Even the program in the ECU for a new car is not well conceptualized. Coupled with a soft car body, spells a very risky prospect. All EV has risk, but a strong car body is an added safety feature.
Southern china is more humid and hotter than Singapore. Almost all the world car brands conduct environmental testing in china as it has one of the coldest and hottest air temperature, highest attitude places on earth.Given our local hot and humid conditions, don't know can even last that long within the "short lifespan" or not, without potentially causing major safety issues.
i would agree with your take if it's a US company operating under GAAP and SEC regulations.Look at china car companies q1 financial report.
only byd has positive revenue growth qoq, net profit qoq increase by 100.38%
Great wall ev brand ora sales qoq dropped 54.31%.
byd is one of the few china car companies that invested heavy in r&d. Many of the car companies marketing expenses higher than r&d.

If china byd so jialat, then why their sales surpass tesla even overseas? In sg, similar byd is more expensive than tesla but selling better. They must be doing something right as it's not easy for China brand to surpass amdk brands.
Actually the patent should belong to Apple. Don't know why AppleThey can sell cheap because their productivity is good.
Staffs work 12 hours a day, 2 off days a month and cheap to hire. How do amdk or Japanese compete? Even if sell cheap, they still can command a decent margin.
And they hold alot of patentship and technologically more advanced especially in their battery tech to reduce their cost of production.
If they cannot tong then the others uplorry long ago.
BYD is like the mainstream EV everywhere they can reach, even quadrupled in Europe where they were heavily restricted.
Alot of people don't understand that selling machines don't mean you need to earn alot from selling it. You can earn even more from servicing, repairs and spare parts.
How can BYD compare to evergrande, I really don't understand. But what to expect from China experts anyway.![]()
or in simple terms, what Austrian economics calls: Mal-investments.Think the danger is in the subsidy given to businesses to push certain market. If not carefully vetted. There will be loophole(s) where businesses can make use of to skirt around it without seriously producing any concrete result. Thus giving false impression of success. Its not that uncommon in many places.
Vaguely reminded read story about last time how one ang-mor brand grow big on failures. Cause think the ang-mor ruling try to boost the economy of sort, thus give money for businesses set up. Therefore think its goes something like that brand expanded at a rapid rate using the money the ruling given from the past businesses to set up the next. Without really needing to come out much money of own. So, even if the business wasn't good at first, the expansion sort of pushed the brand up also. That was how the brand gain success initially of sort.
See local the lifelong learning thingy. Think there is not short of story about how people just set up lame courses to get to that money. But impression from many comments, seems like they don't really give as much value to the learner.
BYD Co. has been taking significantly longer to pay its suppliers in recent years, leading to concerns about potential debt and the company's financial health. In 2023, BYD took an average of 275 days to pay suppliers, compared to 219 days in 2022 and 198 days in 2021. This extended payment period suggests that BYD is relying heavily on supply chain financing, effectively using suppliers as a source of interest-free credit.2024 byd account payable to revenue ratio is the lowest and average payment lead time is the fastest.

They have to manufacture there in order to enter their marketTrue. China is the world factory. Many big brands have facilities over there. It's the management and QC that matters. Not about product origin.
