numbers are worrying though imo.
yesterday whole of Jp has over 800 new cases.

Today 360plus in Tokyo. so quite high numbers imo.

from what I see on my daily commute to work.most people are wearing masks but trains are too crowded to observe social distancing though.

Do the companies there encourage their employees to work from home? For those with young kids in a small apartment, it would be really hard.

Social distancing is almost impossible in crowded areas like Shinjuku, especially food establishments like ramen, Omoide Yokocho, etc. Looks like Ichiran is WHO gold standard now lol

some companies do like mine. however some companies will want the government to announce a state of emergency to do so like my wifes.

Now alot of states are having new record high numbers being reported.
I think Japan nearly hit 1000 new cases on Thursday.

And Covid has been with us for almost 6 mths.

Looks like this year confirmed no holiday liao.

And my Feb 2021 ski trip looks less and less likely the way this is going.

We tried to book accommodation last weekend for a client (foreigner resident in Japan) and almost everything was completely sold out. This was because there was a public holiday but it shows that people are still getting on with their lives. The good thing is that mask usage is almost 100% and hand sanitizer is at the entrance to every shop, restaurant etc.

Japan still has a good domestic market. SG is mostly saving up for the next big holiday lol

How's the public response to news like this https://english.kyodonews.net/news/...yo-reports-266-new-cases-of-coronavirus.html?

People are concerned but in many places it's just something they see on TV. Unless you live in a big city it doesn't feel like an immediate threat. In my city of 100,000+ people for example (Iizuka city in Fukuoka prefecture) there have been in total less than 10 cases and zero deaths since the outbreak began all those months ago.

Small towns are really nice. Stayed a week in Furano and loved the atmosphere there. Locals are friendlier compared to the cities apart from highly touristy sites.

Sigh. Covid started around Feb? Now August i.e. 6 months liao, and not only is the situation not getting better, it is just starting a 2nd, more powerful, wave. If we go by this pattern then 6+ months from now i.e. winter / sakura 2021 also more or less confirmed no hope of any leisure travel liao.

Whole year also can't step into Japan 2020
