anyone has cancelled your air ticket in dec?
till now Japan border is closed . dunno whether JAL will let me cancel with no penalty as I bought a non refundable tix for dec travel
May be too early to have refund for dec tix. I guess have to wait till at least Oct or Nov. And also depends on the situation then.

So far Japan and other countries haven't announce anything about opening their borders yet. Chances look bleak. Will probably look at March/April next year if can't go end of this year.

My Feb 2021 trip also now looking bleaker and bleaker. More than 4 months liao the world still no real idea when will reopen borders for non essential travel, some more now we got new findings that ppl who tio the virus before and recovered can lose their antibodies within a few months, so even herd immunity is a pipe dream.

Planning to travel this Dec but losing hope day by day. It looks like without a proper vaccine, it is safe to postpone any overseas travels.

WHO is dysfunctional when it comes to handling this. Numerous ridiculous advice in the early stages as if they already know everything. Who the F would send a team to Wuhan to investigate 6 months after the first incident was properly reported. Last time proudly claimed no airborne transmission, now maybe airborne.

With an eye toward putting the economy on a recovery track, Japan is set to start negotiations to relaunch business travel between 10 Asian countries including China and South Korea, government sources said Friday.

Japan will also begin negotiations in July with Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Singapore and Taiwan.

Motegi said that under the arrangements Japan will prioritize “business travelers and international talent Japan is in need of,” before easing restrictions for foreign students and eventually for tourists.

SIA cancelled my Tickets to Osaka in Dec, received their SMS but nothing in the form of email and nothing reflected in the SIA website. The thing is, my return flight from Tokyo is not cancelled by SQ yet. Anyone in the same situation as me?

Dec is still a while away and they cancel now? Did they give you other options around your departure date?

There is a difference between reservation and ticket.

Your tickets are not cancelled. Your flight reservation is cancelled. Strange though as SQ website shows flights and seats available from Singapore to Osaka thru the month of December. Email them to check.

Its strange that they cancelled your tickets for Dec which is still awhile away.
And the travel advisory is not until Dec.
In fact they are slowly resuming flights from July and August.
Better call them up and enquire.

nothing reflected in the SIA website

Unfortunately it seems a mess at the moment.

A few days ago I booked a flight Fukuoka to Singapore in August on SIA using my air miles. I didn't pay the small fee so they kept sending me reminders that my booking would lapse unless I paid. However when I check their flight schedules for August and July, this flight doesn't exist:

Wonder which is correct, above document or their website?

Pretty sure their schedule is correct. Have you checked your reservation? Don't think there is any reservation for your previous booking.
I have also just checked. There's no flights availability for FUK-SIN in Aug on the SQ website.

This is stated on their website
Please note that all other flights that had been originally scheduled in July and August 2020 but are not listed in the schedules will be cancelled.

Does it also mean that flights booked after August will also be cancelled?

Yes, now there isn't but there definitely was a few days ago. I also just checked and flights are still showing as available for September. I guess they keep all normal schedules on their website until they make final decision to cancel. It's hard for SIA (like it is for everyone) trying to predict what happens with this damn virus more than a month ahead.

Pretty sure their schedule is correct.

Yes, you're right.

Here is July and August schedule SIA worldwide schedule in case anyone really needs to fly:
