Looks really good. Could you give directions on how to get there from Woodlans casueway?

Plan to go in and try tmr... Is reservation a must?

after u cross the bridge towards city sq. turn right, go down the stairs. wait for taxi beside the stairs (along main road). tell driver sri pelangi food centre. tell driver to stop at the car shop after traffic light. walk downwards along the shop houses. start looking for the shop name (grill bar steak hse)

Just went to Aston's. I'm constantly surprised by their inability to cook a steak to the correct doneness. No matter what I order, I always get a rare steak which is substantially uncooked in the middle.

I don't mind eating rare steaks but not certain about the low quality beef that Aston uses, so I'm not so keen to eat it so rare.

I prefer my steaks medium rare but Aston's always cooked it rare. I tried ordering medium well last night and it was still rare.

Not sure if I'm willing to give it another go, but the prices are really not bad for a sizeable chunk of protein, but only if they manage to get the doneness right.

I stopped patronizing them because of this. I asked for Medium Rare and most of the time they give me Rare :s22: sometimes, I get Medium.

the direction is given in the shoes of a taxi

no buses go that stretch of road. alternatively, you take bus to pelangi leisure mall and walk (provided you know the direction well)

The road outside the steakhouse is only a two lane - two way traffic.

you can choose to stop just outside the steakhouse but that will cause jam to a one way trafffic. safer is stop at the carshop cause there is enough width for another car to pass through.

A question for all steak lovers.
When the steak is served do you
A) Start to eat straight away
B) Wait for the steak to "settle down" first and let the juices re-distribute
C) How to resist when it smells so heavenly

I saw a few clips on YouTube about cooking the perfect steak and also all will recommend to let the steak rest and let the juices re distribute to avoid. Having the whole plate swimming in the juices

for me any food is A. A. A. A. the only time i wait is wait the food being served to my dining partners too. if not hoot liao. wait for fairy to come down to earth ?

I believe the problem with Aston's is that they will only take the meat out of the chiller when you order. Try cooking a chilled steak and you'll know how hard it is to achieve medium-rare. Fire too hot, you'll get charcoal outside and rare inside. Cook slowly, you'll get more consistent doneness but almost certainly end up well-done.

To get the right doneness, you have to start with a steak at near-room temperature. Of course, if you lay out too many steaks at room temperature and don't use them by end of day, it's going to be quite "dang poon" IYKWIM.

Which is why a good steakhouse charges so high for that well-grilled medium-rare steak.
