Some chaps here were discussing about geolocationing issues between android and ios. Assisted GPS works really quickly due to additional data from WiFi spots.. perhaps some cell tower triangulation (not that i know of though). I have been using GPS during my holidays without Wifi or 3G.. the lock-on can take minutes outdoor.. :s13::o:(

Retarded siah, Jan going to over and still not released in Singapore. :s39: I know some of you here don't mind taking risks with export sets, but for the vast majority (like my friend) who is waiting for the local set, this is quite a disappointing wait.

Yeah Singapore is really damn slow. I was in Tokyo during the New Year's and there were advertisements of the Galaxy Nexus all over the place.... billboards, posters in train stations, shopping centre, television. It's really aggressive over there... makes me wonder why is Singapore so slow. Don't tell me it's because iPhone is more popular?

iPhone also super popular in Japan, difference is - Japan Google has clout and market strength. The Google branch in SG dunno doing what nobody knows.

Yes it is still there, just tick the Android Debugging and the old usual USB connect Green Android Robot will appear with a tab below "Turn on USB storage" for you to tab on.

Well, I see that others have commented a lot already on this! :D

Anyway, no device can be perfect..

Although apparently, other ICS devices can have USB mass storage option, its not an ICS problem.. just that Galaxy Nexus's internal memory is partitioned that way..

Ice Cream Sandwich supports USB mass storage after all, Galaxy Nexus does not - Engadget

Hi, I got myself a Nexus but I m brand new to Android. A total noob. I have been reading that it is better to root while new. Yet others say to leave it as Nexus will get the latest update from Google anyway. Would appreciate some inputs please. Thank you in advance.

My phone is rooted but still running stock 4.0.2. Can still update OTA if I wish. Rooting is for running some system low level apps.

wah u get a nexus for yr first phone is like getting an EVO for your first car man! it's a beast so hope u learn how to handle it properly!

ya root when new cos when u unlock bootloader your data gets wiped. but i think there's a way to back up your stuff first.. i read it in xda forums.

anyway don't read too much into 'getting the latest update' cos stock or not, devs will rip the update apart in hours and u can get your update even if u're rooted.

stock is typically not good enough for most people , due to many reasons such as lack of features or too slow , etc ... best just root it and later you can decide when you want to upgrade then can upgrade without worrying your data will be wiped out

go hoot at ebay daily deal $600 or S$800 inc. ship (sian/siam gst)

Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250 GSM Unlocked Google Android 4.0 ICS 16GB 3G 4G Wi-Fi (5055147571321) | eBay

moby $830 export, local set BNIB how much?

Samsung announced a SRP of $938(Or was it $948) which probably means telco would be offering the same price for a non-contract phone once it's officially out.

And Moby or Mobilesquare will likely to be putting it at about $850 or just a little under $900 for the local sets as well..
