rom is after you all root your N7 ? im still deciding if i should root my first android lol..................got any advantages apart from the .apk thingy?!

Went to Best Denki to test the old 7" nexus, initially felt small. But it feels good in the hand, so much lighter than my iPad4. Definitely will be bring it to school to view my files and documents. No need to print or lug my heavy laptop.

Can use as GPS and in car entertainment too.

Installing apk files doesn't require root. Just allow it in the security can liao. Rooting allow you to install custom rom, kernels. Custom roms usually has tweaks here and there to make it more stable. Custom kernels allows you to overclock, undervolt etc. The custom kernel I'm using allows me to slide to sleep, double tap to wake, dont have to press the side button

my n7 got abit erratic touch but it's so minor, only during testing have. can't reproduce it at all during normal usage. GPS is working fine, so it's all good!

live in HDB, serve NS 2years full. neighbourhood school. primary school days pack lunch go school eat. 1 week buy 1 seaweed chicken.

secondary school one day $2, everyday tell aunty "same". play basketball in school. $2 bubble tea also expensive.

only now situation abit better only. 2siblings to take care of, 2parents, i'm the eldest son.

Trust me, once you start rooting and flashing, its very hard to stop! lol

last time when i young, use Samsung Galaxy Spica from samdroid, flash like no tomorrow, it's really quite addictive and fun, keep pushing your device.

now too old for all that already, just hope to get a functional and smooth experience. hehe.

I bought the Nexus Media Importer from PlayStore for US$5 and it does work well on the Nexus 7 (without root)

That cannot be used to transfer non media files, right?
Looks like I need to root n install stick mount n copy files over from my thumb drive

I just got the new nexus 7 from Amazon via CGW yesterday. Screen no issues, but the LED notification light doesn't seems to be working although it is enabled, tried LED tester app still no go, anyone else having this issue?

Its 3950mah powering a 7 inch fhd screen. And if the battery life was better,it will be heavier. Anyway, have you tried using custom Roms to undervolt?

gonna wait for the LTE version. sold my previous wifi n7 cause i kinda feel that its a hassle to hotspot for data.

Is the form factor similar to old n7?
