pardon me but i don't get you. u mean if i root my files will not be gone ? and my save games remain ?

to root, needs to unlock bootloader and all user data are wiped off..

once done, you can push/flash the root files.. after that can reroot anytime if you haven't relock the bootloader... to backup data can use Titanium Backup

There's another app Helium seems to backup userdata without root.. haven't tried yet though..

for 4.22 it can apply OTA without issues, I don't know what changed in 4.3, I couldn't apply OTA to 4.3 .. so I just flashed the factory image, leaving out the user partition..

It really depends on how the next OTA update works. If the next OTA update requires verification of all recovery and system files, the most we have to do is flash back stock recovery and the OS partition. If it doesn't, then it will be smooth sailing.

IMHO, if you are the type of people who don't like to work with command prompt, or don't want the hassle of flashing and experimenting with different images on your tablet, I would suggest not to root your device.

The short answer is no, rooting will not wipe your user data like contacts, word documents, save game files, app settings, and etc.

But rooting requires you to unlock your bootloader first. When you unlock the bootloader, system will do a factory reset and wipe out all your user data. Unlocking the bootloader is said to void your warranty. In previous versions of Android, there are ways to unlock bootloader without a wipe but I don't think those methods work on Android 4.3 any more.

bro, i think mine somehow resolve, for now. this morning i drove to school and back home. using Sygic. GPS works fine.

I uninstall the google frameworks to factory default. and uninstall google maps to factory default. Now works.

Hope it stays working. Still waiting for google to fix. Google very slow one.

Last time SMS wrongly named and send also took like 2years to fix? They never fix it. They replaced with new firmware which doesn't work on that device. Joke.

rooted with CM10.2 custom rom, like it better than stock. Just visit xda forum, everything is there.
