Jus sharing, Someone on asus singapore FB mentioned that LTE version is now available in Malaysia at RM1299. Anybody can verify this claim?

that is weird... did you get yours from Amazon US as well? can share which version is it, the wifi or the LTE?

Yes mine is from amazon wifi version I am really puzzled why it was not covered and the cso told me that not all nexus 7 is covered internationally which I wonder how wr know which one is covered which one is not it seems like it's our luck if we get the us local warranty set lol

Just go back to ASUS Singapore. They have to service it. You dont even need to tell them where you got it from when you are there.

Really? But they can check the serial number to see if it is a local or US set. Then if it is an US set, won't they charge you for the cost?

Probably to solve the warranty issue, could someone scan the warranty card from a nexus 7 2nd gen which was bought from Amazon. Then we could all see if it is local US or international warranty.

I got impatient and decided to order one from StoreKini.com. This is the reply I got from them about the warranty and LTE frequencies of the Nexus 7 LTE that they are selling.

All Asus products, including this Asus Nexus 7 2013, comes with 1 year international warranty and should there be any problems with the device, you can bring it back to any Asus service center in the country you're residing or any other country that you're traveling to.

As for the LTE compatibility, the version that we have is the "rest of the world" version which comes with a 3-pin charging adapter suitable for both our countries. It will work in Singapore and Malaysia. Below is the list of supported bands:
Rest of World:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
HSPA+: 850/900/1900/2100/AWS (1700/2100) MHz (Bands: 1/2/4/5/8)
LTE: 800/850/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 MHz (Bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/20)

That's actually a very good price, considering that from the Play Store you'd have to pay USD349.

There's a RM35 shipping fee btw. Their shipping to singapore is via DHL

currently on CM10.2 (20130927-nightly-flo)...multi-touch is still pretty buggy.

edit: the 'ghost' multi-touch issue only happens when I'm plugged in and charging.

any fix?

not sure why but when i flash CM10.2, my build no. is now JLS36G (which I think is build no. for LTE model) although mine is WiFi.

I don't understand. Why go through all the trouble when you can simply buy it from opensurface, albeit at a very slightly higher price, like maybe $30 more? Hmmm....

Actually if the set is an international set rather than a US set, it's a pretty good reason to get it already if you intend to travel to areas that can utilize the additional bands.

In terms of LTE bands, the North American and European LTE sets are different according to [UPDATED] European Nexus 7 no longer specified to support LTE - GSMArena.com news. So, I guess the "rest of the world" set from Malaysia is an European set.

Looking at the LTE bands, if wat the CSO said is true, then they are indeed selling the UK sets. The US sets doesn't have 2600mHz band so those who are using US sets only gets hooked up to local LTE network using 1800mHz band.

Then again, i believe the previous iphone5 also suffers from this single LTE band issue. Not too sure how the 1800mHz band coverage works in singapore though...

No no, I didn't mean in terms of warranty. I meant in terms of the LTE bands. If you happen to travel in Europe, the "rest of the world" set can be useful.

I suppose you can offer 2 variants of the Nexus 7 LTE in your shop as well. I know if I had the choice (at the same price), I think I would prefer the European set as it is more compatible with the Asia / European region?
