Google Nexus 7 2nd generation

Guys, I just curious if it's still worth getting a Nexus 7 when there's the Nexus 9 and the Nvidia Shield Tablet. Well, I'm leaning more between the Nexus 7 and the Shield Tablet as I find the Nexus 9 too big and price difference too large.

I found this Amazon UK link that ships to Singapore and it costs £161.14 but when I checkout I only need to pay £148.55 including shipping (AmazonGlobal Standard). Is this for real or am I doing something wrong? If it is real then this is an awesome deal.

Hmm okay. I never try buying anything from Amazon.uk before though. Maybe wait for some who have purchased it before.

I believe most of them here bought Nexus 7 during the BF deal and not now so it ain't really cheap for those who purchased during the BF deal.

If wallet allows, I would get Nvidia Shield. I believe most bought it for USD170+ for 16gb wifi.

If you want more support and etc, N7. From what I know, Nvidia's custom support only got Carbon and Pac-Man rom.

Nexus 7 spoilt very easily. My older Nexus 10 still going strong. As much as people wanted to bash Samsung, out seemed they do last longer than Taiwanese goods.

I think it's not a question of being in a hurry or sideloading. Google is an internet giant which made its fortunes from the internet and owning/operating/deploying many servers all over the world, but yet is not able to have a simultaneous roll out of its flagship product's operating system updates for their users who actually paid money to buy their products. And we're not even talking about the third party manufacturers who need to load up the OS with bloatware but their own vanilla Android tablets.

That speaks of how low in priority they rank Android, really. Especially since most of their other products are "free" in the sense that the users don't pay a cent to use them.

The reasonable expectation from a company of their stature and financial status is definitely much more than what they are doing now. Moreover so, since it costs then very little more as they already have the infrastructure in place.

My experience is when the Nexus gone totally flat, it will take quite sometime to see anything when you plug it in for charging.

Try charging it for 30mins to 1 hour, after that, press the Nexus power button for 15seconds and see if it boots up.

My 32 GB Nexus 7 2013 got Lollipop 5.0.1 update about 2 weeks back. Was on Kit Kat previously.

Not true, I guess they roll out by batch ? Got my US 16gb Wifi set updated 2 ~ 3 weeks ago....
