Moi started to has problem nowadays, want to type keyboard dun appear. Close app can see delay of 1.5 seconds. Everything seen to getting slower. Getting retarted. Hard reset a few times oso like tat. And its getting hotter at the back after use.

Brought in October 2013. Frankly, i started to realise might be the hardware lifespan is due soon.

Nevertheless it served moi well for the passed 19mths.
Should be problem with 5.0.2. Ever since i sideload 5.1 via adb, the tab is smooth and responsive again... Haven't restart my tab for 3 days whereas i need to restart once or twice per day with 5.0.2 due to lag, hang or memory leak.

why urs cannot update to 5.1? Yesday as i was rearranging apps on my tab s which still on 5.0.2 suddenly some shortscut disappear into the bubble of my live wallpapers. Then it appear in different folder here n there when i restarted. The guess is the bug of 5.0.2.

im not going to sideload since very lehceh, going to just wait for Google to trickle down to me.

basically you need to root and install.
http://www.androidcentral.com/here-are-android-51-ota-update-links-and-how-use-them ( if device brick don't find me :p )

You must be joking right? There is no need for root or unlock or anything to sideload. It's sideload not flashing which you will have to wipe/factory reset plus additional steps to do when flashing.

Bro, how to side load 5.1?

Download the OTA zip (important OTA zip not factory image, they're not the same)
Boot your phone to recovery
Choose apply update via adb
Connect ur phone to your PC via USB
Type adb sideload <ota file name> on terminal

That's it, wait for it to finish updating and reboot.

OTA file links

OTA sideload instructions with screenshots

You don't need to root to push via adb.

Mine already updated to 5.1... :s11: got fed up of the 5.0.2 bugs and decide to update via adb since we still don't know when will google push the updatw via ota to everyone

I just gotten my 5.1 this morning via OTA.

Have to test test and see if it helps.. btw these few months the battery is deteriorating not sure if it's coming of age or is it because of lousy fw.

adb sideloading ota zip doesn't require root or bootloader unlock.....it's basically you using the manual download ota zip package and do it yourself instead of waiting for google to push it to you...

fastboot flash <command> .....now this is the one that requires bootloader unlock...

rooting is NOT required for flashing images via fastboot!! Root is on the OS level, fastboot took place even before the OS is booted.....think of it as the BIOS/EFI of a PC.....

It the same micro usb. Just different orientation of the usb socket. Htc also implement it the same way as nexus 7

Hi, I tried to connect to wireless@sgx using sim card method with my nexus 7 2013 for auto connect, but I can't seem to find the sim card choice in the WiFi settings. Does anyone know how to get this done? With my moto g dual sim, there is a sim choice that I can choose under WiFi settings to auto connect to the wireless@sgx. Anyone has any advice?
