At the moment, whenever I'm home, I will go to settings, under mobile network, I disable mobile data. Then if go out, no wifi, then set to enable mobile data. Is this what you mean by toggle? Or the re is a better way?

That is the case if u nv root phone. I prefer this way because I had unpleasant experience last time when both my 3g and wifi is turn on tgt but it tapped my 3g

If you don't mind paying for juice defender. It does the job.

Another way use widgets. Put it on screen.

Another way is root it. Install custom ROMs. Modaco has a pull down power control buttons.

EDIT: you can try cyanogenmod 10.1. Can adjust their power settings tab.

Loving the mod now.

Using CyanogenMod now.

For me I just need iris for bus. Dolphin with jet pack add on. I also install flash for the custom ROM default Google browser. Swift keyboard for tablets. Phono for my engineering use. RF signal tracker for my tracking of base station.

Thanks. I am not very techie so even tho I have heard of rooting, I never intended to do it. But now, I may have to try it. Can tell me a good site to read about rooting and getting the roms? Also for you guys, does it mean you keep changing roms each time something better comes along? That means having to keep wiping and setting up your n7 with every new rom installed?

And does rooting void the warranty? Thks.

So I don't have to disable mobile data, as long as there is wifi, it automatically uses wifi? Then that's good.
Yes, whichever is activated and connected takes precedence. As long as the wifi icon is there to show that u can connected, it won't use 3G.

Google "xda forums nexus 7". Go under 3G development if you are using the 3g module.
Yes it will void warranty if you unlock boot loader. By relocking it and flash back to stock then you can send to service centre.
