Anyone noticed that it takes very long to fully charge the N7?

i presume you're using the provided charger? and not your handphone charger?
not the difference in amps/voltages (not sure which)

I tried charging with other combination like, with computer, with 5V/1A o/p charger. Each config with and without ASUS cable. Even tried normal micro usb cable with ASUS charger.

The only stable fast charge is with ASUS CHARGER AND CABLE.

DONT ASK ME ABOUT THE CABLE PART, I tried all sorts of other micro usb cable with the ASUS charger. They just charge slowly..

Its an average charging time of 2hours 30mins. Anything more than that then must check.

Please use the original charger 2A 5V output charger. NOT 1A 5V charger. It will never charge fast enough for a 1A 5V, this would make you charge it for almost 5hours to 6.

Next is the type of cable used. Please use the original cable. Using other type of cable will result in a lot of losses in current due to the resistance in the wire.

If all is right means you got to check your unit. Or if you are using an converter adapter. Cause i remember there was once i use a faulty converter adapter, it has tons of losses. Stuck at 50% and never charge for a few hours. Barely move 1%.

how fast the tablet can get fully charged also depends on what services you have running in the background. Some applications such as email clients can suck up a lot of juice from the batteries.

I agree with royfrosty on the cable part. I have tried using some generic cable but it seems to charge up slower than using the original cable.

The best after market charger I have seen so far based on my own testing is from innergie. I have tried comparing using the original charger that comes with the tablet and with innergie charger. Innergie charger seems to be charging the nexus tablet much faster than the original charger. I suppose having a higher amp make a huge difference. but performance drops when I am not using the charger to charge just the tab alone. I think the total amp is shared when you plug in 2 devices.

One thing to take note. When I was charging my nexus along side with iPad Mini, iPad mini seems to get charged up much faster than nexus, even though my ipad mini has all sorts of services (push mail, wifi sync, BT, wifi, location) turned on. I supposed iOS is more efficient in managing the power requirement of its device or maybe the hardware it uses is more power efficient as compared with Nexus.

The mini has a more powerful 12 watt charger. The nexus's charger is actually quite weak and only just manages to charge an iPad.

Sorry my mistake. I would still imagine that it is a hardware limit of the nexus 7. Perhaps the nexus tops out at 2 amps? The iPad mini charger is 2.4 amps--not sure how many amps your 3rd party charger is.

Then u can easily use any apk extractor like myappsharer on ur N4 to send the apk over to ur N7 and install. But only for the N7 3G version, since it needs sms verification iirc. I'm sure there's some workaround for wifi only version (similar to whatsapp), but I only got N7 3G so I lazy to try other methods. :D

Thanks for the clarification.

It was rated 3amps at 15W. I suppose that is the total amps the charger can output on one USB port and shared the load when both ports are utilized, so it could be 1.5amps per port when both are in used.

Simple review as i can't comment on how it feels like with the tablet in the case.

For now, the case feels solid and it looks chio as well.
Stylus i have tried on my phone and the stylus feels like one of those full metal/brass pen, and the touch was really responsive on my phone.

Including shipping by USPS, it costs me about $110-$120. Take out the stylus and it should be $90-$100

Was pretty shocked by the shipping though. It was only confirmed on 15 Jan. And i have received it already!
But on the USPS tracking website, they only put received electronic info

Not uncommon though. I once got a casing from the US for my G Note three days after I placed an order. But I thought Portenzo mentioned on their website that it will take two weeks, since it's custom made

I have tried this once over the weekend, no data sync and only light reading locally (meaning not downloading), it lasted slightly more than 36 hours before I was being prompted to charge the tablet (less than 15% charge left)
