hi guys,
i have read that if a nexus 7 is bought from other countries, eg taiwan, its google play content will be locked onto that region.

is it true?
my bro bought a nexus 7 from taiwan and now back in SG his playstore still shows apps in taiwan $.

Also he does not have the playbooks, play magazine app available, does doing a factory reset help getting those apps back??

have to root, and get titanium backup... run it and it will show that the apps are frozen.. need to unfreeze to use.

Yes, it doesn't require receipt. I have personally bought my Nexus 7 unit to Asus service centre @ Tai Seng, and they don't ask for a receipt. What you would need to do is to register the warranty online at http://vip.asus.com.

In fact, Asus products (3x laptops, tablet) that I had purchased, they never once asked me for receipt.

I always thought that just clearing the play store data fixed this. Aren't the markets supposed to auto update based on the country you access them from?
