Rooted? Currently on 5.0? :s11:

Nah, stock rom, on 4.4.4. Still waiting for my lollipop hah but i heard for people with the wifi version, it kinda make it worse but for people who did a clean wipe and update, it didn't have those issues others have but given the hardware, i'm not gonna expect it to be fantastic. Kinda given up on ASUS products, all my ASUS stuff, except for PC parts, all have issues de. Even the new N9 is problematic according to people.

I always have faith in Asus products leh. :s13:

Maybe you might wanna try roms that are not full with bloated softwares.

I reset my N7 before cos it was so damm slow, maybe 50% would be the recommended space lol. The lagginess of the N7 2012 is all over the internet, probably those who doesn't have it, maybe bought the later ones that could have some newer nand storage or they just doesn't install that many things to feel the lag. When u navigate between home screen, go into apps drawer and back is fine. It's when you open 1 or 2 app and back then all hell break loose :s13: Actually, since day 1 i bought it, i wasn't very happy with the performance, especially when it comes to browsing.

I stop using custom rom le. After my Galaxy S2, i just use root cos custom rom always seem to have some issue that take forever to be fixed and it's my only phone, i dun wanna missed out on phonecalls or messages lol. Then got problem have to wipe data and flash again, bo eng ah. Using Note 3 now without root and i'm surviving very well. Will only root and install custom rom on devices that are not my daily driver and likely i wun really use them for important stuff.

woah so many replies already. nope, I'm on stock 4.4.4. It recently past few months I noticed it start to slow down a lot. Never install new apps recently. When swiping pages or when running games, can feel the lag. Have factory reset and reinstall the apps, but still the same. Somehow feels that last time is much faster with the same number of apps installed.

Does help a bit if u are rooted and install lagfix. Something to do with trim not properly done in stock ROM. Just take trim as defragmentation in windows but this is for NAND flash.

Hope it helps.

the step listed is not Master Clear right? only clear cache?

I am still on 4.4.4

14.79GB / 27.58GB full (less than 60% usage)

RAM: 665MB used (66%)

another big concern is also batt drain on sleep mode...

Yes only clear cache in boot loader

my nexus 7 now takes forever to charge....anyone has a similar problem?

I have the same problem.
Tried every charger I have (Samsung S2, S4 & Tab S charger), still charges slow, and even ended up with a blown fuse on Tab S charger (not sure if related)
Tried various powerbanks as well, rated at 2A, but still slow charge.

Would be grateful if someone could offer some insight.

Sometimes use a shorter, higher quality (branded) micro usb cable will do the trick.

How long is slow? :s11:

I use a Xiaomi cable and a Anker charger to charge the N7.

Hi All,

I own a Nexus 7 2012 wifi, is flashing the only way to get Lollipop now or the OTA as not arrived? I have also noticed it being sluggish recently as well.

I would recommend going F2FS. The downside is any updates and etc, you'll have to remember to only flash F2FS roms.

If you still don't get the prompt to update after running OTA, then the only way is flashing on your own.

Been on 5.0.2 since mid Dec 2014.

Bro, you think I never try different cables?
And samsung usb cables aren't exactly unbranded low quality cables, you know...

You mean the Anker PowerIQ 5 port charger?
I have the same, same result with the Xiaomi cable (I have the xiaomi cable that comes with the phone and the short one that comes with the power bank)
Takes like >12hrs to charge fully.

Yes. Hmm, maybe try switching roms and see whether its still the same? :s11:

If still the same, should be charging port issue.
