its a hit and miss. So far my case is only Samsung can detect, other brands like WD and Seagate cannot detect. All is USB 3.0 and I believe Samsung HDD LED light is less power hungry so that's why it can work. Others the LEDs are too bright causing N7 to not power up the drives.

Now on the lookout for drives without LEDs.

Guys, I'm planning to get a Nexus 7 soon. I read somewhere that a 2nd gen is coming up but I won't be getting that 1.

Some question which I hope u guys can help me with.

How much is the price now? Last time I went funan, costs around $400 but that about 2 months back I think. I'm looking for the wifi only version.

Most probably I will getting an external hard disk also, so can the nexus 7 power up this up?

If the usb hub is powered the hdd should work. But must see ur hdd lucky or not lor.
